X-Box question

I bought my son one for Christmas, question is, now when he turns it on the only thing that comes up is a setting the clock screen, I can't get the control to do anything anyone else have this happen is it the controller or anyone have any idea how to fix this.

did you unplug the x box?

if you did, you will have to reset the time and then all will be fine...
