i think they are on the way down..as a team they are average or worse in almost all their starting positions and hte offensive line can't get the job done when they NEED to..most of ricky's yards are not the goaline or have to have 2 yards on third down kind..and the coaching is very poor to boot..qb is average to below average and the wideouts don't scare anyone!!

miami overrated... maybe a tiny bit

But they will come to play this week vs the JETS. The problem with Miami is IMO their coach. He doesn't get 100% out of his players which does hurt them, especially at the end of the season. This year they started early with a bad lost against a hungry Texans team. Rickey is an awesome RB and he will prove it vs the JETS. Miami right now is the favourite at -3 so far but I do think that line will go to a -4 or higher.

Miami will eat the JETS for lunch! :bigun:

Talent wise, Miami has as much, if not more, than any team in the AFC. But between Wanny and Mike Martz, they have a good battle for who's the worst head coach in the NFL.

Kind of ironic; the 4 coaches probably in the most hot water right now are Jauron, the above 2, and McGinnis. At the end of 1998, the Bears fired Wanny (thank God). They were going to bring in McGinnis, who was going to bring in Martz as a OC, but McGinnis hadn't formally committed, and when local radio said it was a done deal, McGinnis got pissed and said forget it. So the Bears end up hiring Jauron. I wouldn't be shocked to see all 4 of those not in their current positions a year from now.

Gentlemen, I just couldn't help myself. This is a paragraph directly from my Miami Dolhins preview and it will be the story of the Miami Dolphin's season to come.

It's no secret this team can run the ball; they ranked second in the league last year. On the other hand though this team's passing game ranks among the worst in the league. More importantly, it is unreliable. In the game of football running the ball is important, and it can win you 17 games a year if you are playing Buffalo, but the inability to pass the ball will kill you when you play real teams. What absolutely paralyzes the Fish is that they can not pass the ball in key situations in the game. Like always, the Dolphins start their games off hot. They get early leads, shutdown opponents, but don't put teams away. They let their opponents crawl back in the game, and then the Fish usually collapse in the fourth. It's a common theme. It either comes from Dave Wannstedt (who won't be around much longer unless they fix this problem) or from Jay Fiedler. Jay Fiedler has a career 79.6 quarterback rating and posted a 85.2 average last year. Let's dig into his QB rating a bit further though:

1st quarter: 118.7
2nd quarter: 85.5
3rd quarter: 87.6
4th quarter: 52.7

Take a good look at that 4th quarter rating because it is absolute crap. When this team needs him, he folds like a cheap tent. He is one of the biggest reasons why this team chokes so often. If he keeps this up he's going to be replaced pretty quickly.

------

If you take away Miam's drive that started in the 3rd quarter, and ended in an early 4th quarter touchdown, Fiedler went 1 - 5 with 2 interceptions in the 4th quarter.

Just keep it in mind.....

Also, playing with a 4th quarter lead Ricky Williams only had 1 carry in the fourth quarter.

Is that a joke or what?
