Hi guys,

I apologize to any guys who know this stuff already. But there is local knowledge for the Jays final games.

At the very start of the season J.P. Riccardi the GM of the Jays set a goal of 85 wins this year. The goal is to improve next year again and to be a contender the year after. This might be a bunch of BS except for the fact that JP was the assistant to Billy Beane of the A's for over 10 years. The Jays got him ahead of Boston and he is a master of building a team. Enuff said...

The fact is that the Jays are NOT giving up this year. They have 4 games left and are now 83-75. That means they have to win at least 2 of the next 4 games to reach the goal. I am not saying that the players are wedded to this mystical number. BUT JP has repeated this as a goal over and over. If any player lays down or gives up for the Jays, he may well be gone next year. Like so many players without heart were shipped out this year. And ALL the players know that this is their goal. In fact, all of us locals knew all season this was the goal.

So without giving any guarantees or anything, I am just saying that the Jays will not stop playing hard the last few games of the season.

Take this for what it is worth. This is just an FYI. Sorry for being so verbose.

I agree and they have been playing decent ball. But tonight is a great example. They get a decent start from a crappy starter and the first guy out of the pen-Chulk blows it. They HAVE to improve their staff and pen. I knew to play the over tonight-but I made the wrong call.:nono:
