So earlier this night, I went back to the East side of town (where I grew up) and met up with some old buddies of mine. And the east side has a good population of Latinos. Well anyways, me and like 5 or 6 of my latino friends go to the local sports bar, watch some baseball and drink a few. Then I start asking whats been happenin and hows the fam. My one friend said that his grandmother has been living with them the last few months. This grandmother of his has lived in Mexico her intire life and came up here like a few months ago I guess...

anyways....

I asked him jokingly of course, is she picking the tomatoes? He said no, she`s sitting on her ass COLLECTING SOCIAL SECURITY!

Now that raised my eyebrow just a tad. Here we have this woman, who hasnt done jack shit for the country or the economy or anything else, yet...she is collecting SSI. WHY!?!!? She`s not even a fawking citizen! I kinda got angry at the fact that she`s getting all this - but I kept my mouth shut, as rule #1 here, dont fawk with the latinos - too many of them.

Does this bother anybody else?! I look at my paystub, and social security has been takin out wayyyyyyyyyyy more then any other taxes or medicare shit. Is this where my money is going?!?! So anybody can just bee-bop into the states and collect money by doing nothing?

He buys houses in the inner city for real cheap and charges the guys $80 a week to live there he has about 30 men living in each house they are coming here from PRico immediately going onto welfare and or social security ITS SICKENING if you ask me. Roll into Madtown and see how some small companies get away with paying 1 illegal worker the wages for all X amount of workers hanging Rock(drywall)and distributing it among the others. I have friends that are developers and see it all the time, they say it is what has to be done to compete, whatever , it is BS from the top down , but if the Ills were not here these practices would not be possible.I could go on and on about the indirect problems this creates but it is very obvious.

agreed, Nicki!! i was always under the impression that the amount you collect from social security was based on the amount paid in over various quarters.

is this wrong? can you collect SSI if you never paid in?
