I guess I will be the novelty act in here and back the Twins against the Yankees. Winning that series would probably set them up for a letdown in round two, honestly, but anything could happen with the A's and Sox, pitching-wise.
I honestly think Santana can keep the kids close, and may be the most overlooked player in the entire playoffs right now. If Johan can keep the Yanks honest for the first five or six innings, absolutely anything can happen in this series. With the Twins moving Milton and Rogers (lefties, mind you...) into the pen for this series, I feel the Twins probably have the deepest and most effective bullpen of all the remaining teams. Admittedly, with Guardado, one can NEVER be sure...but Hawkins is lights out in the 8th. Shannon Stewart has added fire and confidence to the team, and Radke is definitely capable of throwing a great game in #2. Lohse will be dismissed by most, but has been terrific and will be at home in #3 against Clemens who could be, well, NOT Clemens, as we all know.
To me, the Twins have a real chance in either of the first two games behind Santana and Radke. If they get one, game on. Dare to dream.
