when i asked one of my students a year ago to try to figure out what my modus operandi was......he said to me:

"Sir, can you say that bad word out loud at school...?"

apparently he had NO clue what i was talking about.

ah, the joys of teaching.

guys i'm gonna tell you right now, capping hockey is NOT my strength....but seeing as i'm stubborn and wanting to make some cash, i've decided to give it one last kick at the can this year.

tracked hockey records on madjack:

2001 - 2002: 125 - 120 - 33 = - 84.17 units
(man, i still have a bad taste in my mouth from that season....)

2002 - 2003: 211 - 179 - 32 = +2.00 units

how do i cap hockey games?

a) use covers.com for stats
b) use past head to head history of teams....usually there's a fwe teams that dominate another team in certain buildings.
c) hockey databases which gives me the stats on how teams have done @home over the last 5 / 10 / 20 or so games...
I prefer to bet on good home teams.....

there's a good quote:

"never expect a BAD team to do GOOD things for you".

who are the bad teams this year.....? with ALOT of parity in the NHL, i feel that it'll be a bit tricky to see lots of faves hit on a consistent basis.....

d) i will be posting the anti top ten consensus plays...hopefully all the hockey games during the week will be starting AFTER 7pm..... :)

e) teams play back to back.....

f) how do teams fare outside of conference OR how do they fare with inter division matchups....???

g) be wary of goalie status....i've learned last year that 5 - 6 of my games got screwed because i didn't have the info that there was a goalie change.....a bit tricky to keep track of.

ANTI TOP TEN CONSENSUS PLAYS:

how did they do last year?

2002 - 2003 season:

record / % / money lost

ATS Picks 374-300-79 55.49% -14675
O/U Picks 350-323-110 52.01% -6800
All Picks 724-623-189 53.75% -21475

the money LOST would have been if you laid $500 dollars per pick that they had.

2001- 2002 season

ATS Picks 88-109-13 44.67% -3850
O/U Picks 107-85-24 55.73% +4900
All Picks 195-194-37 50.13% +1050

what can i assume from these stats?
last season:
well for one, the picks are over the .500 mark yet they STILL lost money? High faves anyone.....?
and in regards to the totals having LOST money.....? man, those
-130 totals at 5 must be killing them.
this could be another rough season.

but i look forward to betting on a few games, and playing 1/2 units....i've learned my lesson.
