Just saw the movie Stuey

Been seeing a lot of discussion about this movie around these forums. The movie's director is from Nashville and some of the movie was filmed here so we are getting an independent release of the movie in Nashville.

This is a very dark and compelling film. I do not want to go into much of the body of the movie since I know a lot of folks are planning on seeing it. I will pass along that if you are a gambler and you think you like "the action", you will have a great appreciation for this movie.

Is Nolan still around? I want to know more about when the book is coming out.

Any talk of if/when it will be released nationally? I'm figuring that at best, the local art house/independent theater here in town will be the only place to see this film-if it even plays there. Would really like to see this one on a big screen, but will wait for the DVD if I have to.

I'd, too, like to know more about Nolan's publication date for his book. Anything you can tell us, Nolan?

What is the name of the movies director?? Are there any local nashville talent in the movie?? Im not really familiar with this movie but I am a big movie buff and would love to get some more info on it, if you have any??

The director of the movie is first timer A.W. Vidmer. There is local actors in the movie and several scenes that are recognizable as Nashville locations.

Not knowing how to attach a link:shrug: , I did a quick search on Yahoo typing in "Stuey in Nashville" and the first search is the write up and review in our paper from 9/26/03.

The film still has not been picked up by a studio, it is being shown here as an independent.

The movie has a ton of great albeit B-list actors in it including Michael Imperioli and Steve Schipirra (from the Sopranos) Vince Van Patten (one of the WPT commentators) and PAT MORITA yes thats right Mr Miagi!
