UNC games YTD: 3-1 +3units (only loss by 1 pt)


The Tar Heels return home this weekend after their loss to NC State to take on the Virginia Cavaliers. Although the score was relatively close, NCSU was on the verge of breaking the game open at many points of the game. The Tar Heels continued to show they are completely inept on defense, while the offense continues to put up big numbers. The return of Bobby Blizzard also was encouraging.

I was pretty surprised the line was so low for this game. UVA was favored by the same number of points against a much stronger WFU team, although that was home and this is away. UVA has beat us 5 straight games at home I think. Schaub looked good in his return, he racked up some big yardage but uncharacteristically threw 3 ints. I just think UVA with their pretty good running game and their passing attack will be able to put up points at will. This game is pretty much similar to Carolina?s games against Syracuse, NCState, as in whoever can outscore the other will win. That is my only hesitation, one of these games the heels will end up coming out on the right end of things. Let?s just look at a few stats:

Team Passing Defense: UNC ranked 114 out of 117 in D1
Team rushing Defense: UNC ranked 107/117
Team Scoring Defense: UNC ranked 116/117
Total Team Defense: UNC ranked dead last, 117/117, 522 yards per game

There is no reason this should get any better this weekend. Against a resurgent Schaub who?s looking to get UVA back on track, I think the heels may take another beating. I took this one early because I think the line is going to move. I may end up buying this back but I doubt it. I do like the over but don?t really want to play at this point, and I might even parlay UNC ML/Over on Friday in addition to this bet. I think this line is off, so I will be laying the points.

Yeah I will be at the game. Just drove up to the stadium, PERFECT day for a football game. It's about 65, going to get to be 70, barely a cloud in the sky, wind not a factor and not looking like rain. Fletch I really like the over. Not sure why the books keep posting low totals with our other games this season. Hope you grabbed it when it hit 56 but 60+ shouldn't be a problem. Schaub will put up his share and at home we should be able to put up some scores. Only hesitation is UVAs pass D is decent but Durant is a playmaker.


Stevie, your right. I'll probably be the only moron in the stands today. But hey, gotta be a true fan and go when they suck to. We'll get our revenge once the college hoops season comes around believe me.

These books really don't get it, our team sucks and they are making lines way too soft. I'll keep a close eye on the opening line for next week's gamea against ECU, I said 2 months ago it will be our first win and it looks like that will be the case.
