Thanks Hellah and like I sadi you are the man in the MAC....you made me alot of money in the MAC last year in football and especially in basketball. That I respect you for...Just concentrate on the MAC and we will win $$$$$$!

That was a great game for the Hawks and it played out just as I expected! :)

Also my homer play n Auburn won me some money yesterday too!

iahawk:

if i didnt know any better, by readin your posts, id have thought iowa dominated michigan and won by 30 points.

the game was decided by 3 points and iowa was outgained by michigan by almost 200 yards.

hawkeyes hardly played a crisp game, nor did they play "good defense". my god- they almost gave up 500 yards of offense.

so while it was a nice win for iowa, it lessens your credibility and furthers the belief that you are an unobjective homer when you go into other peoples threads and tell them in a roundabout way "i told you so", when iowa was not particularly sharp nor impressive, and in a game decided by 3 freakin points. nothin wrong with rooting for a team, but take off the blinders and see that the game could have gone either way and iowas D got lit up

GMAN....obviously you never read my posts...show me where I stated that Iowa dominated Michigan by 30 points? HUH? I said in many of my posts Iowa would win with better defense and better special teams...which they did. Plain and simple ..the yards don't mean a dam thing! It isn't my fault if a team can put up alot of yardage numbers and then is to inept to put the ball in the endzone. Yes Iowa gives up alot of yards...but where it matters most is the scoreboard...and Iowa has the 5th best scoreing defense in the country. And the special teams has block now blocked 5 punts this year and they have the best kicker in the country, bar none! It's others on her who thought Michigan was a national champion calibur team and Navarre for Hiesman crap! There were many posts on this board on how no-way Iowa could win this game, people buying the spread up to 7.5 , saying how donimant Michigan is...That fact the Iowa won the game as a 3pt underdog and against many peoples beleifs simpley shows how great of a win it was for the Hawks. Overcoming a 14 pt deficit to this highly touted Michigan team without Ed Hinkle, Mo Brown, and Jermelle Lewis and with a new 1st year starter at QB AND with 4 NEW STARTERS ON THE OFFENSIVE LINE and coming off a loss to Mich St....Makes this One of the greatist wins in Hawkeye History against a storied program like Michgan who many had pegged for an easy victory. I also am stateing that Iowa will only get better when these injuried people get back.

Now the reasons I liked Iowa in this game:
1.Home Field Advantage and Michgans recent struggles on the road against ranked opponits with Navarre at QB
2. Iowas excellent special teams play with their ability to block punts and Michigan haveing so many problems punting this year.
3. Nate Keading
4. Fred Russell
5. The #5 scoreing Defense in the country

These were my reasons for Iowa and thats why it played out as I expected as thee were all factors.

SO GMAN please show me where I said Iowa dominated and won by 30.
Thank-you
And I have no beef with hellah...I have plenty of respect for him predicting MAC Games!

Obviously you don't read my posts either. I was found after the Michgan St game....read my post in CWOOD97 thread about his early plays of the weeks.

Yes Iowas defense was torched for yds in the first half..too bad Mich only manged 20 pts.

The second halF is what mattered...which team could make adjustments. Iowa did. Mich only had 196 yds and 7 points in the second half because our great defense made adjustments and stepped up. Mich got 86 of them yds and their only 7 pts on one drive. Otherwise this so called great Mich offense was SHUT DOWN! And will the game was on th line...Navarre and the Michgan Offense was SHUT DOWN, by the Iowa Defense and 72,000 screaming Hawkeye fans. The only thing that matters is the final score and that as 30-27...Iowas defense played well enough to keep Michgan out of the endzone enough times to win the game. Get over it , Iowa was the better coached and better team Saturday. mICHGAN was absolutly shut down in the second half ..plain and simple. And as many of you pointed out Iowa did this without and widerecivers. Also when you look at the stats Mich was wore down in the second half as Fred Russell took over and ran for 121 yds after only 17 in the first half...Mr Hiesman Perry ran for 90yds after 64 in the first half.

my god- what are the expectations for the iowa program if a regular season win over not-even-top-10 michigan is "one of the greatest wins in the history of the program"?

i think the point of my post and its intended meaning went completely over your head.

i never quoted you to say "iowa won and dominated by 30".

my whole point is that you seem to have some blinders on with iowa. they just got torched on defense and beat michigan by 3 points. and it aint like vegas expected a blowout. the line was 3 freakin points, lol.

tellin people to stick to a certain conference is kinda lame. just my opinion.

i really didnt intend to drag anything out with you.

im just puzzled at what game you were watching, because it clearly wasnt the one i or most of the country watched.

i always appreciate valuable info provided by guys with a vested interest in their local college. but many cross the line when they cant look objectively at a game their team is involved in.

if nothing else is taken from this post, we can always submit the "one of the greatest wins in iowa's history" line to webster's dictionary for an example of the word "hyperbole" :D

later bud.

I know exactly what your trying to say. Your trying to say I am here to rub it in Hellah's face for not takeing Iowa. Well I'm not and we can let him decide that. He already knows I have the upmost respect for him as a capper...What I was simply saying to hellah is that he does great with MAC games and it's when you start capping games with teams you are unamilier with you can get into trouble.

Now, I don't always pick Iowa on here, but my rule is I never will be against them...but I felt strong about this game. Last week I stated I would only play a small amt on Iowa being a road game for this young Iowa team. After capping this game I felt Iowa would win and I already stated the factors as to why. Take it for what it's worth. But obviously hellah though Michigan would have an easier time with Iowa as he adjusted the line to -7.5.

And if you watched the whole game you would of seen the Iowa defense take over in the second half. Like I said who gives a rats ass about how many yds you can gain. If you can't score then YOU LOOSE! PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

As for it being one o the greatist games in hawkeye history...it is anytime we beat a program like Michigan or Ohio St. They get all the talented H.S. recruits, but we get the underachievers. So with Ramon OCHOA and Cal Davis our 3rd and 4th string WRS, starting and both scoreng reciving touchdowns against defense who hasn't givin up a passing td all year....IT'S A GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Corn boy:

I think you meant to say Iowa gets all the "overachievers." You got a lucky home win, gift wrapped by Michigan's ineptitude. Now you can start making up numbers of Big Ten championships again. Where were you last week after the MSU debacle?

last time i looked on a map, toledo is about dead smack in the middle of big ten country- thus i dont see what in the world youre trying to say about "capping unfamiliar teams". but thats neither here nor there. the post has nothing to do with hellah actually. its ludicrous for you to make a comment about unfamiliar teams to someone from toledo- which is an hour away from the michigan campus and an hour away from the ohio state campus.

like i said, the whole point of my post was your inability to look objectively at "your team". lack of objectivity is apparent when the "we and us" pronouns pop up in a capper's post. mainly because said capper is not on the team's roster nor does he play football for that university.

all i was saying was that youre poppin in guys threads (hellah, cwood, and others) more or less with an "i told you so" tone to your posts after the game was decided by 3 points and could have gone either way.

trust me, i have no issue with you. i dont want you to get that impression. just wish some guys could be more objective. local info and perspective is always good, but clearly youre not bein objective and looking rationally at a very fortunate win in which iowa didnt perform particularly well.

the local news media covers more michigan and ohio st then they do BG and Toledo...

so I would get anything that the main stream media wouldnt...plus, at work - its nothing but OSU and Michigan fans..they follow them fanaticaly...so Iam definatly not un-familiar
