If you keep the room at 70 degrees then it has always been accepted that 70% humidity is the ideal level. I think that is perfect for the winter months here in the east, however when the temp rises in your house I would suggest dropping the humidity level below 70%, if even by a little bit simply because of the risk of mold in your humidor and on your cigars. I am aware of the difference of bloom and mold, and believe me higher temps and high humidy will cause mold on your cigars making you very sick if you smoke em, especially if you like to age your cigars (like I do) in your humidor. Your still in DC I think so 70-70 is ideal for the coming months, as the temp goes up I drop the humidity a bit, say 60-65%, this may not be the advice the cigar companies would give, but it works for me here in Western PA. Use 2 or 3 or even 4 humidifiers in your humidor instead of one big one this way you can easily adjust the humidity by removeing or replacing one.
