ANYBODY?

ZITO CAN HAULT THE BOSOX OFFENSE, WHICH HASN'T BEEN THAT GREAT ANYWAY.

THE A'S CAN SCORE ON PEDRO, THEY SCORED THREE ON HIM THE OTHER DAY

SO Y NOT? FUK IT, I'M TAKIN' THE A'S AT +145

I would love to be with you here, but they will not win.

The only way A's win this game is with a gem from Zito. And we are not talking gem, we are talking deep, like 8 innigs gem. He will not get there on 3 days rest, which he has never done. Pitchers on 3 days rest in playoffs were 6-17 with a 5.47 era coming in to Hampton today. You can also bet these were big name guns if they were going on three days rest. Boston bats may have awoken after 9th today. Most important edge, however, is that Macha has blown through the bullpen. Everyone is used up, they are in trouble there. I think a rested Pedro avoids his pen. Oakland will have trouble avoiding theirs. Bosto also hits lefties well. They win this game.

Of course, after reading what I wrote, I may have been a bit too strong. Anything can happen, this is baseball - the results depend on many small intangible random events. But still, I "think" Boston wins. Good luck, regardless how you play it.

It's tough. Pedro has to get one on these games. I think he will be ready tomorrow.

never

never

Zito has never pitched on 3 days rest in his career. Remember how sore your arm was 3 days after pitching just 5-7 inning in high school??? Pedro is rested...he's been the guy in this situation before: Game Five in Cleveland coming in for 6 PERFECT innings. Zito has been on every single A's team that has colapsed in the post-season so it's nothing new to him. Nomar and Manny will bust out HUGE tomorrow(tonight now) and Pedro will let it go for the Sox. Sorry to bust in on your thread like this brother but my passion and emotions are too much too contain. I see nothing else but the Sox playing the Yankees on Wednesday night in game 1 of the ALCS, besides...this is what is was supposed to be like. Cubbies and Sox in the World Series. Cubs are 4 wins away and the Sox are 5. Good Luck...maybe you'll take Oakland + 1.5 runs and we'll beat you 3-2 and we both win.

oops

oops

when I said Pedro will let it go I mean he'll let it all out. It didn't look right the way I typed it. He will be on top of his game. Who's behind home plate tomorrow night?? That will make a difference for the total as both pitchers rely heavily on the black of the plate. Over 7 runs is very possible with the wrong ump calling balls and strikes And Sox bat's are due for one of those 10 run offensive out bursts. Might parlay Pedro and over 7 betting purely with my HEART.

no problem all opinions are welcome and i'm glad you are pumped for your team. But in comparing Zito/Pedro's performance in this series, you would have to give the edge to Zito who only allowed like 5 hits and 1 run or something crazy like that. And the rest factor should not play a huge role, because it isn't like Zito throws a 100 MPH..he mostly relies on that curve and change up to keep people honest on his fastball which is low 90's....on the other hand we shall see a HELL OF A GAME...LET'S GO OAKLAND!!!!!!!

HOME TEAM HAS BEEN THE DOMINANT FACTOR IN THIS SERIES

GL WHICHEVER WAY YOU GO

Kim apologizes for flipping bird
Associated Press

BOSTON -- Red Sox reliever Byung-Hyun Kim apologized for making an obscene gesture in front of booing fans when he was introduced before Saturday night's playoff game against Oakland at Fenway Park.

Kim, who allowed the tying run to reach base in the ninth inning of Boston's loss in the opener, was jeered when the public-address announcer read his name.

"I apologize to the fans of the Red Sox, the people of New England and baseball fans throughout the world," the Korean pitcher said in a statement released by the club after the game. "It was an instant, reflexive reaction that I regret.

"I appreciate the passion our fans have for baseball in Boston; all of us depend on them and their support. I am very sorry."

Kim did not pitch in Boston's 3-1 win in 11 innings that cut Oakland's lead to 2-1 in the best-of-five series. Game 4 is Sunday at Fenway.

The usually reserved Kim raised his right arm and touched the bill of his cap. He then brought the arm down to his right side, raised it again without changing the small smile on his face and put up his middle finger.

Reliever Mike Timlin, the last player introduced before Kim, was upset.

"I was standing right next to him. I was personally embarrassed," said Timlin, who pitched three perfect innings. "He's a man. He's got to control his actions.

"I was embarrassed for myself and for the Red Sox."

Boston obtained Kim from Arizona for infielder Shea Hillenbrand on May 29. In 44 relief appearances and five starts with the Red Sox this season, Kim was 8-5 with a 3.18 ERA and 16 saves in 19 chances.

Kim gave up game-tying homers for Arizona in Games 4 and 5 of the 2001 World Series at Yankee Stadium.

If you do like the A's I'm not going to talk you out of it. I see no value in betting either side of this game as it is a game 5 and either team could win it. Sure you are getting Zito at a great price, but you are facing Pedro.
I'm leaning toward the over cause it is a pressure situation, short rest, both teams actually showed life of hitting yesterday.
Hoping more people keep pounding the under and will see from there.

If you do decide to play the A's though DO NOT do it now for +145. The line is only go one way but up I'm pretty sure. You will get a much better price right before the game. Currently the line is -127 for the +1.5. Might get closer to -115 or so pregame. Why not take the run. Every game has been close except that A's in game 2. Good luck whatever you do, I would just hold of on betting the dog right now.

Funny shat about BK Kim....he's got thin skin and is a head-case:D AZ is laid back, fans don't scream obscenities at the players and the players aren't under the microscope like they are on the East Coast in NY, PHI, or BOS...Kim reading & hearing a lot more negative press than he ever heard out here..not exactly the tough mentality you want in a closer...No worries though, Red Sox faithful, Kim will not see action today or in the next round vs. NYY due to "tightness in his pitching arm"....Kim had his own personal rocky horror picture show at Yankee Stadium in 2001 World Series & manager Grady Little has decided to go with former Red & NL Rookie of the Year Scott Williamson as closer today and the rest of the playoffs should the Carmines get into a save situation today.
I went to all 4 home games at the BOB in the 2001 WS vs. NYY...Game 7 b/w Roger Clemens & Curt Schilling won by AZ & Luis Gonzalez in the bottom of the 9th of Rivera was the greatest sporting event I've ever been to! 2 recent Cy Young winners in Pedro vs Zito has all the makings of another classic....have a great time at the game....win or lose...you'll have the memory and ticket stub for a lifetime!:)

you lucky bastard

you lucky bastard

great to hear you're going to the game...you should hold up a sign that say "Mad Jack's Loves the REM DOG" that would be a surefire way to get on TV IF this game were on NESN but being that it's on ESPN or FOX you might look kinda stupid holding up a "Rem Dog" sign.

Speaking of Kim, this guy does not possess one element needed to be a pitcher or Closer for that matter. He doesn't have "thick skin' like you mentioned above Spottig, he doesn't have nasty stuff or an unhittable pitch-the more he struggles with his command the more fastballs he throws over the plate and I believe the faster an object is moving upward (Kim's awkward fastball) and is met by an equally moving or faster moving downward object (swing) , the laws of physics and inertia or gravity must take over because Bung Hole Kim's balls sure seem to fly out of the park in a hurry. I have no idea if what I said has any scientific value but watching this guy pitch since we traded Shea I might be right. Another stat on Kim: Kim has a higher Batting Average Against than Shea Hillenbrand had a Batting Average For since the trade. Maybe he'd make a better Shortstop. WILLIAMSON is our closer now. Kim will not pitch, for if he does I'll jump of the Prudential Center, I'll give up my Celtic's season tickets, and I'll move to New York and become George Steinbrenner's man-stalker. Not necessarily in that order. And for the Zito thing, not too many pitchers have shut this SOX lineup down twice in the same week this year.

Most of the cappers i know are on Boston tonite and i hate to go against them but i have this feeling the A's are going to win.

I guess will will have to wait until tonite to find out, so i will be back after the game is over.

Now did that live up to the hype or what?

That was even more of a heartstopping dramatic thriller than anyone could have imagined! Hope the experience of witnessing an instant classic makes up for the A's loss a bit.
