Tim Hudson is talking a lot of shizzle. And I quote Tim Hudson directly here: "I think we have the better team. We have the best left-hander in the league going tomorrow. It's alright, I'll take Barry Zito over Pedro Martinez any day. Without the gifts from us, we'd be celebrating. We're still confident we can win."

This guys blows the lead in game 1 and for whatever reason he takes himself off the mound in the 2nd inning of a clincher. Then he says he'd rather have Zito over Pedro anyday??? This motherflocker is smoking crack. I'll take the best Right-hander in the solar system over the best Left-hander in the league anyday and Tim Hudson can die tomorrow and I'd piss on his grave. I hope that little bastard cuts his receding hairline shaving his alien-like head this morning. It's alright, after tonight Barry Zito can start his off-season regimen of smoking weed and surfing the waves of Southern Cali starting tomorrow.

Mick-

Don't mean to butt in here....but I'd take Prior over Pedro at this point.

Prior is throwing some real NASTY, dirty, FILTHY stuff...just ask those Bravos hitters....

Pedro is very good, but If I had to put a guy in to bring home the bacon, it would be Prior(close second to Wood)

BoSox will win tonight, and hopefully we will get to see Pedro vs. Prior down the road.:D

I'm talking Sox/A's

I'm talking Sox/A's

not taking anything away from Prior but he's still a kid. Cubs have the edge in pitching over anyone right now but they are led by kids. You can't compare Schilling/Johnson (not saying you are but some people are) when two guys lead a mediocre team to a world series. These two guys were seasoned-vets. Prior, Wood, Zambrano 3 Kids. IF the Cubs make it to the series remember they are led by Kids. Albeit great kids.

Yes, but I can remember a kid by the name of Gooden that had a pretty damn good run a few decades back.

The Cubs have the pitching, a good defense, and just enough hitting to win this whole damn thing...

mick:

i know youre a red sox fan so i know youre super passionate about pedro but a few things.

1) hudson didnt blow the lead in game 1. that was rincon.

2) hudson pretty much dominated the red sox this year

3) what do you expect him to say? -- "ive got no confidence in my teammate, pedro is going to own us. barry is gonna lose game 5 for us"

ive seen plenty of guys in the nfl say "id rather have so and so as my quarterback than anyone else, blah blah blah"

hudson isnt exactly pumping up a bum- zitos a cy young award winner.

i think we can all agree pedro is one of the top 2 or 3 pitchers in the game. zito probably top 5.

hudson just re-affirming confidence in his teammate. nothing wrong with that.

as far as "extra motivation" for pedro.
i doubt it.
the curse of 100 years should be enough motivation for the red sox.

gonna be a great game

I know I know

I know I know

Someone has to keep me in check...this game is so flocking huge for me and all the Sox Fans. For Teddy Ballgame, Tony C, Yaz, Dewey, Rice, Fisk, Tiant, Eck(even though he won with Oak), Armas, BUCKNER, and all the greats...all the Sox that have had the good fortune of entertaining us, the Great People of New England, for so many years. But most importantly for Ted Williams and Carl Yazstremski that played their hearts out in front of us for all those seasons. Never winning it all. For Ted Williams, God rest his soul...who gave up all those productive years flying combat missions over Korea and Vietnam. Who knows if we could have won during the better part of the five years Wiliams missed. The poor bastard is freeze-dried so his piece of crap son can one day sell his DNA. The Blessing of Teddy Ballgame will overcome the Curse of the Bambino this year and it has to start with Pedro shutting down Oakland tonight. Then we worry about the Yankees. Thanks for checking me up, but there is too much excitement here to contain.

I'm with ya Mick. I am a Dodger fan but BoSox have always been my second favorite team. My parents have a ball from the Soxs of the past with Teddy Ballgame's signature on it. So the hell with the curse and go Pedro and onward to slay the Evil Empire. :nutkick

Actually this sets up better for the A's than in years past........In

2000 there rotation leaves them with Gil Heredia to pitch the deciding 5th game against the Yanks............LOSS
2001 there rotation leaves them with Mark Mulder pitching twice in the series and the final game against the Yanks.....LOSS
2002 there rotation leaves them with again Mark Mulder Pitching game 5 against the Twins.........LOSS

In every series Zito, who in my opinion is the best of the big three only pitched 1 game in each series going 2-1 with the only loss being the gem he threw when Jeter made the miracle play on Jeremy Giambi at the plate. He lost that game throwing a one hitter. If the A's are going to go down then I would rather have Zito on the mound than anyone else on the staff.
