I see we have not heard from IaHawk this week. He is probably counting the Michigan St. game as a win for Iowa, along with their many (more than Michigan of course) Big 10 titles and Rose Bowl trips over the past 10-20 years.

Rest assured he'll be back if his Hawks beat UM. And if Navarre and the boys play like they did the last two weeks, it very well may happen.

As I said before....UM has had this game circled since last year. Iowa came in and embarrassed us in front of the homecoming crowd. Iowa was the better team last year but things have changed.

As for the way UM played the last 2 weeks....it's been ugly. Especially on special teams with 24 points being handed out by the punt team alone. Navarre will be ok. I hear everyone in the stadium yelling for Guiterrez but Navarre is the man...and rightfully so.

Braylon Edwards is constantly in Carr's doghouse but with the emergence of Steve Breaston, that's nbd. Get the ball to #15!

I think the IU game was a combo of coming off a dissapointing loss and looking ahead to this game. They were flat, but Perry got back into the swing and will keep rolling along.

Revenge factor is huge for this game.

Mademan, I agree that UM is the better team. In fact, probably the much better team, but this is setting up as a classic defensive struggle. After the Oregon debacle, UM will run the ball or die trying. And when UM stacks the line to stuff Russell, Iowa minus their top two receivers won't have the talent to make plays in the passing game. If you like UM, I would suggest paying for the ML. Three points could be huge in this one.

One thing to remember about this game. Iowa has the best kicker in the country, and a propensity to block punts. UM has had two punts blocked already and a true freshman placekicker, whose biggest problem in practice has been a low trajectory. Those two factors alone make me very antsy about laying any points here.

Oh, I'm here, win or lose I'm always here. Don't worry fellows! I just had a baby girl Last Thurs and been in the hospital all weekend. But I am back, but will be kinda busy now, 1st child! Anyways, yes Iowa lost, I did not get to see the game live, that might be one factor in the loss.LOL...Anyways, our defense still played lights out football, except for that first drive of the game by Mich St. It was odd for our 'D' to be on the field first because the last 30 of 32 games or so we always put our offense out there first. That was another factor!...Our Offense is struggling without playmakers top 3 recievers, Mo Brown, Ed Hinkle, and Clinton Soloman...Also Jermelle Lewis at RB being out is a factor and missing Champ Davis at FB hurts too. But we should get Champ and Ed back this week and BOB SANDERS will start this week on defense! To many turnovers last week gave Mich St excellent feild position to capitalize...elminate them turnovers and Mich St would of had a longer field to play with and not score enough pts to win. We played a bad game like this year against Iowa St ...giving up turnovers and we played our bad game last week...Look for Ferentz to have his team ready to play this week. The Defense will play lights out in front of the 72,000 plus fans in Kinnick this weekend. The Offense will eliminate the turnovers and get the job done. Like my buddy CWOOD said it will come down to special teams...and Iowa has the better special teams play. Advantage IOWA

I would tease Iowa +10 at home and the Under, I'm also gonna lay some wood on the Iowa moneyline and play Iowa +3, because I beleave Iowa will pull this out with special teams, great defense, and the Home Crowd. It's homecomeing in Iowa City and we will be honering Hayden Fry at halftime.. Also Hayden will be in attendance for the first time in over a year and he will also give a pre-game pep ralley! Also former Iowa Alum Tom Arnold and the Best Dam Sports Show will be there and broadcast live from Iowa City tonight! I also hear Ferentz will be running a special trick play in honer of Hayden...so be aware the ol' sly fox Hayden was always known to pull something out of his bag of tricks....ALSO ANOTHER KEY FACTOR WILL BE THEM PINK LOCKER ROOMS!

Congrats on the baby girl iahawk. My wife's got our first in the oven right now. The side is pretty tough to cap in this one. I do think in order to win Iowa's going to have to make some big plays in the air to keep UM honest, and not sure Chandler can do it with Hinkel and Brown out.

Regarding special teams, UM has had troubles here, but don't forget about Breaston. He is leading the nation in PR average and has one for a TD, one to the one yard line, and one TD called back.

I take it as a compliment that you have this in every one of your posts. To put the score of the Iowa/UM game up shows that you have respect for our program.

Nice win last week and congrats on your baby.

Although I hate Ohio State more than any team in the Nation, I hope they beat your Hawkeyes in 2 weeks. I want them undefeated when they come to Ann Arbor.

Well thanks mademan and like I said in previous posts I do have respect for Michigan and Ohio St. It's just great when Iowa actually beats these upper big10 teams and can compete after so many frustrating years! If the shoe was on the other foot you would see where I'm coming from.

Now I'm beginning to worry about my freind CWOOD. Where you at, you ok? Haven't see you on here for awhile. You can speack up , I promise I won't say anything more abt the game to you , till next year :)!

Hey Hawkeye, I'm all over Michigan this week. Minnesota will be exposed for the fraud team that they are. With no National Championship pressure on Michigan anymore I think they will finally be able to play to thier potential on the road against a ranked team, even though this ranked team is the biggist fraud and overrated team in the country....Sorry Gopher Fans!

GO HAWKS!

Hey, I'm back. Been having some issues posting due to work firewall. Took a real beating last weekend, and my Wolverines stepped on their own nuts once again. Super. Congrats to the Hawks, but man, RUGBY PUNTS!?!?!? The once muffled grumbling in A2 is getting louder by the day. A loss to either OSU or MSU this year and Lloyd will likely be "coerced" to resign. Also, you're not gonna like to hear this Hawk fans, but Ferentz will be at the top of a very short list if a move is made. Who knows what he'd do if offered the UM job but he really is an unbelievable coach. Anyone who watched that game could tell he doesn't have half the athletes that the UM coaches have, but he kept the Hawks fighting and clawing to the win.

FWIW, I wouldn't lay a penny on Navarre on the road. Yes Minnesota is a fraud, but like Iowa-Oregon, this is their season. National TV, Friday night, etc. As a starter Navarre is 1-7 on the road vs ranked teams and the one win came at Illinois in 2000 when a hobbled Drew Henson took over at half with UM down 10. I would consider teasing UM to plus 8 as if they lose, I assume it will be another nail biting version of LloydBall Masterpiece theater.

hey CWOOD..Welcome back!

As for Ferentz leaving Iowa to goto Michigan...will never happen in a million years. Ferentz is a Hawkeye from the ealry 80s and now again after givin the opertunity to follow Hayden. Ferentz has already proved he will not leave Iowa for money. Ferentz has been on many short lists dating back to last year...Turned down a multi million dollar offer by Jacksonville, San Fran, turned down colleges Alabama, and a few others. Ferentz stated he doesn't care abt the money and will coach the Hawks untill his one dream job opens up...to replace Bill Cowher to become the next head coach of the Pittsbugh Steelers. That is the only job Ferentz stated he will leave Iowa for. He said he would never leave to coach another college team, especially anther Big 10 school....as he was on Penn Sts short list to replace Jo Pa just a couple weeks ago and he already ended that specualation. Ferentz to Michigan will never happen.

Michigan will be Minny fairly easly on Fri night. Minnys defensive front is way to small to compete with an O'line like Michs and Chris Perry will have a huge game as Mich will expose Minny for the fraud team they are.. Look at the past few years..Minny always comes into the Big 10 with 5-1 6-0 records untill they begin playing the upper big 10 teams then they are exposed... they load up there preseason scheduale with cupcakes every year like K-State does and look what happens when they play Mich, OHIO St, Iowa, pURDUE, wISKY!

Mich BIG Fri night!
Look who Minny has played so far!
