did I misread it??

Middle of 7th inning of Yankee game, they put up a graphic comparing since 1920 the number of Division Titles, Pennants, and World Series won by the two teams.

Did they have for the Yankees 12 Division Titles and 38 Pennants?? Did I see that right? How can that be?

Wildcards have only been around for what, 10 years tops? How can you have 38 league championships with only 12 division titles?

It wasnt up long, and I was doing other things, so I figured I must have misread the graphic. Did anyone else notice this? Or if I misread it, what did it really say?

It may have been right. Until I believe some time in the 60s there were no divisions. No LCSs. I am not sure about this though, but that may be how this stat shakes down.

In fact, it was right. The LCS first came into effect in 1969, in concert with the introduction of the division into major league baseball.
