Pedro has been informed by Grady little to not worry about pacing himself. If you noticed last start at Fenway Pedro was throwing between 83-88mph before the whole fight thing. with Boston bullpen problems earlier this season Pedro has become used to pacing himself in early innings to go longer into the game.
Pedro is not the horse Clemens is, physically he just can't withstand the grind of making 33 starts in MLB. His body just isn't that big and strong, he wears down. Simply doesn't have the lower body strength of guys like Seaver Clemens Ryan etc. however he has been told to go all out tonight, even if he can only go 5 innings, Wakefield will be rested in in line to follow Pedro, and that should be difficult for Yankee hitters. Imagine following 94mph heat and wicked chang e with Wakefield knuckleball.
Further Boston bullpen has been incredible Post season, look at these numbers.

Williamson 8 innings/14 strikeouts/1.38era
look at these numbers, Sox regulars hit Clemens fairly well. Yankees have some players with decent numbers against Pedro however they are limited at bats and players such as Flaherty Wilson Sierra etc. that won't play

The big Cuban was up 4 different times yesterday and is not used to pitching 4 straight days. He was always a starter throughout his career in Cuba, also rumors in Boston, Boston hitters have found Cuban tips his split finger, which is why Boston only swung at fastball yesterday. Nelson & Heredia both have been sucking. Yankees really missed Karsay or Stanton.
Boston has Wakefield Embree Timlin & Williamson do go to. This is the distinct advantage.
