I cannot believe the Bears are starting Chandler! UNREAL! My dad grew up in DC, we're huge Redskin fans, but we live in Chicago and we root for the Bears. What does starting Chandler do for that club? NOTHING. I'd rather have Stewart. their season is over. If they're not going to start Stewart, they might as well throw Grossman out there so he can start getting some experience under his belt in preparation for the future. Chandler does nothing for the Bears. They piss me off...

Or maybe I'm just more upset about the Cubs...

:banghead: :( :nooo:

Somebody shoot me, please...

And with Adrian Peterson as the back, their ability to pick up blitzes just went from bad to worse . . . and now they have a stationary target. They need to keep Grossman out of there. Starting on this team will only hamper his growth.

Physically it would! He'd get killed. I agree with you, which is why I said I'd rather have Stewart. And that point you make about Peterson is excellent. Good luck to you this week and hopefully the Bears won't get burnt too badly...

Officially, Stewart has a leg injury and that is the reason for the change. Stewart said if he was healthy he would be the starter this week, but Jauron danced around that when he was asked if that was the case. Basically, they wanted to make a change and so they can say that Stewart is "injured" which is technically true (isn't pretty much everybody in the NFL technically injured by wek 7) and if Chandler does well this week they can go with him and if he doesn't they go back to Stewary while still saving face.

However, I think the Bears should already have a hospital room reserved in Seattle in preparation for the 12 times Chandler's going to get sacked Sunday night. Some QBs try to win the game, some QBs just try to keep it close, Chandler will just be trying not to get decapitated.

This is one of the only games where I cannot even come up with a far-fetched, half-ass scenario where the Bears stay close in this one.

Although I don't have an official trend, I know when a team starts a new QB, due to injury, etc, they generally play well vs. the number. The feeling is that the team "rallies" around a new QB, and that the team tries to "get up' for the game.

(oh...but I think the trend does not apply to C. Chandler  )
