The set up.....

I was out with a friend of mine the other night. You can call this a second date. We've known each other for a couple of years but just recently started a "relationship". She is very intelligent. A very qualified nurse in her early 40's, single mother of 2. We ate at one establishment, had a few drinks, then went to a second for more cocktails and talk. We covered the Vegas lion story and then the guy going over the Falls and drank some more. Then we somehow hit the whole Michael Jackson and the little boy thing. We didn't get into a big beef (I wouldn't let it happen) about it but she got quite animated about her feelings. She is totally on his side about this.


What I need....

Any info relating to this situation. Any locations on the net I can find on this. I knew bits and pieces of the story, but didn't have anything of substance. I wasn't prepared for her and her convictions. I could use anything from both sides of the story.

While we were talking, all I could think about was asking you guys to help me. I need to be enlightened so I know what the hell the whole situation was. I know this is old news and a dead story. But I could be totally wrong on this and I don't want to be. As I said, she is very intelligent and her beliefs could be totally correct. Right now, I don't think so.

Any help from anybody would be greatly appreciated. I'm fairly new to the whole internet thing.

We didn't get into a beef over this. She seemed to want to and was very impressed with my controlled responses. My decision paid off well later

I was just startled a bit by a seemingly very intelligent person taking the side she did. No biggy. We both know the boundaries of this relationship. No sense in starting a physics project out of making PB&J sandwich.

In the midst of all the comments abovr - I have to say the guys gave you some good advice - its not worth arguing about - not talking about would be good - but don't patronize her by agreeing - its OK to agree to disagree.

Personallly - I would probably side with you on the MJ issue but alot of people tend to minimize his behaviors because of his f*cked up childhood ........... I see both sides but unless she is the President of his fan club and you are the Treasurer of his "hate" club the argument is useless between strangers much less friends.

Her 1st daughter is already on her own. 2nd daughter is young and gets to stay with her Papa when I'm out with her. I not going long term here and she knows that. Just go out to have fun, and have fun. She is one strange bird though. Never thought I would meet anyone, let alone a mother, that would defend someone of his ilke.

By the way, she HATES the two tiger dudes and esp their lifestyle. She said she wish she could hear the crunching of the one dudes neck in the tigers jaws. She was joyfully talking about this with as much passion as she was defending one-glove. I think the fact that she is a nurse adds something to her wackiness. People in law enforcement (my brother) and in the medical community have a diiferent angle on things, and a different sense of humor.

I just hope I never see anything resembling an ice pick (get it) under the bed.
