Paus starts for calgary...brady for toronto...

Toronto quarterback Damon Allen continues to progress well from the injury he suffered to his non-throwing shoulder in the team's last game but backup Marcus Brady will start tomorrow ... The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will start backup pivot Pat Barnes against Edmonton Saturday with Khari Jones (high ankle sprain) not practising this week.

Cory Paus is still looking to complete his first pass as a pro.
Head coach Jim Barker would enjoy seeing that, too, but he'd be satisfied if the rookie quarterback just survives his first CFL start.
Paus, a former UCLA Bruin, is expected to get the nod tomorrow night in Toronto, although he'll likely share the Stampeders quarterbacking duties with fellow first-year pivot Keith Smith.
"He's got a week's work, two practices worth of plays," Barker said after yesterday's workout at McMahon when asked what can be expected of Paus.
"You hate to have a guy put into a situation where he has not practised the plays he's running, so obviously he's limited that way."
Paus saw limited action in his first game Sunday against Saskatchewan when he failed to complete a pass in three attempts. He entered that game as Smith's backup and had never taken a snap with the offence but was forced into duty when Smith suffered a broken nose on his fourth play.
"It will give us a good opportunity to evaluate Cory, see how he fits into this league," Barker said.
Paus said yesterday he'd like to bounce back from his brief showing against the Roughriders by first completing a pass and then hitting the SkyDome scoreboard.
"I still haven't completed a pass in my professional career, so we're looking for a completed pass first -- after that, a nice, deep corner route (for a TD)," said Paus about his expectations against the Argos. "I'm going to try not to throw any interceptions and hopefully stay in the game, so we can try to win it in the fourth quarter."
