How bad is the field in TEMPE???

I didn't get to see yesterday's SF/ARIZONA game, but I'm wondering what kind of shape they left the field in yesterday. I heard somewhere that the field was bad on SUNDAY, how nasty will it be tonite then???

I was really liking the OVER in the game if it had been played in SAN DIEGO, but if neither team can keep their footing, I don't know. The bad field would favor MIAMI in my opinion, as WILLIAMS is more a power back than TOMLINSON, but I'm still thinking both teams will resort to throwing the ball tonite in short control type screens and passes across the middle. Obviously if the footing is bad, it could lead to points when a DB falls, or a WR falls and the ball is picked and ran back...

Anyone got insight to field condition, please let us know...

Thanks in advance for any information!

Fortunately, up in Boston we got 2 four o'clock games. Unfortunately, one of them was the SF/Arizona game. I shut this game off at least 5 times, and shame on me, that means I turned it back on 4 more times. Regardless....Shipp ran for 165 yds to add to Arizona's 221 rushing yards. San Fran ran for 106 yds. The field was not particularly banged up, although it underwent the wear and tear of a regular Sunday. Obviously the groundscrew has their work cut out for them, and they may simply have done an emergency resod. Tough to tell. Last year the posted total was 36, as SD went to Miami and lost 30-3.

I know that neither of these kickers will be going to the PRO BOWL anytime soon, but 5 missed FG'S????? What was up with that?

I see SF tried a two pt conversion on the first attempt, was that a muffed snap or what? I had the OVER in a teaser last nite in the SF game and lost, partly due to the missed FG's, so if the field is preventing the kicker from planting properly, I want to know before I go OVER the total again tonite.

If the field is fine, I think you see a game in the forties since SD cannot stop anyone and MIAMI has a great defense, but look at the schedule... weak weak weak. No team they have faced can run the ball with any consistency, no wonder they have the best defense against the run.

If this game turns into a grind, MIAMI wins going away with the superior power game and defense, but if SD can exploit the weak secondary of MIAMI, well then....WHOA NELLIE! :D

We shall see.... guess I'll have to post after I get some more info regarding the field.

Yes, Poochman SUCKS!!!! He is no longer employed. He missed easy FG's. Arizona's K'r is a backup and missed a 50 yarder at the end of the game. None of the FG misses were bc of bad footing. The missed xp was due to a bad snap.

The over would have come in easy if Terrell's TD wasn't reversed and a couple of these FG's were made.

The director of football operations at ASU, George Wynn, told Covers.com the surprise Monday nighter won't even faze his staff. Wynn said two games in two days shouldn't even put a dent in the hybrid Bermuda grass.

"We have the best grounds crew in America," he said. "The field is already painted and ready to go."

I think the field will be fine and since they are playing at night the heat won't be a factor either. I think yesterday was pretty hot in the desert and both teams were exhausted after the 3rd q.

Both D's have injuries to key players. Both running games should be in great shape which will open up the play action pass and give us some long passes for scores.

SD will give up 20+ pts and I think they'll score at least 17 on Miami.

I'll be playing the over in this one.

Remember to always fade the MACHSTER. I'm the worst capper on the board.

Of course, I wouldn't have lost if they just would have kicked 1 fg instead of trying for the TD in the 2h. What a bunch of shit.

I can't believe I continue to bet on the NFL, which stands for "NO FAWKING LUCK", by the way. I was up 12 units from saturday and managed to lose 4 units on the NFL.

Is it just me or has the NFL become boring. These guys get paid mega bucks and can't even throw a 5 yard pass and if he does get it in the vacinity of the receiver they can't catch it. What a joke.
