Lets see- P.F. Flyers were tennis shoes or sneakers.
OMG- DTB your'e right on the Butch Wax. I remember putting the pink stuff on a crew cut and rolling up the cuffs on new blue jeans. Remember the 'Hoods' who rolled their cigarrette packs up their T-shirt's sleeve?
ROTFLMAO- AR182 so your brother was a celebrity:
btw, my brother was once in the peanut gallery on the howdy doody show, & was treated like a star in the neighborhood.

WOW......most COOL....i don't remember any of them, which by scoring rules means i'm YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unless of course not remembering any of them means older than older than dirt and experiencing alzheimers.... :(

ummmm.....okay, like George Washington, I cannot tell a lie...i remember 18 of them, so rank in the older than dirt range :moon:

asked my father (the barber) about the butch wax, and yes...it's for hair and not for floors.

my memory of P.F Flyers is a high top tennis shoe/sneaker, in red and white with a white rubber toe area. is this right?? if so, put me up to 19....LOL

DTB you are right about the Butch Wax. We used to call the haircut a butch haircut as a matter of fact. And that was before we even knew there was lesbians!

I don't consider myself "old as dirt" but I scored 22 out of the 25.

DTB: are you certain that coffee ad with the "perking" wasn't Maxwell House?

BTW, does anyone from the DC area remember the coffee ads featuring Jim Henson's puppets (precursors to Muppets) long before Sesame Street?

Hmmm... maybe I am getting old.........

Count me in as older than dirt, remember each and everyone of those.

And yes Butch Wax was for the front of your flattop haircut so it would stand straight up.

Man what memories.

How about the old Sylvania tv's with Halo of light around the picture screen.

And the serial short movies on Sat afternoons at the old movie houses where I would go and spend the whole afternoon on my 50 cent allowance.

The tires on my bike were wider than most cars today, well not quite, but they did have white sidewalls and we would put playing cards in the spokes so we would have the sound of an engine.

I better stop, I'm getting older by the minute

:)

VA I believe it was Maxwell House now that you mention it. It was the one with "Good to the last drop" in jingle.

AR Ditto on the bike and cards

Fav drink was double cola, the bottle had big swirls it it and you got bout 4 more ounces for same price. Never heard of green river drink either?

Biolermaker I had oblong gas tank I used instead of net to play catch with. If you hit it above equator you got pop fly, below ground ball.;)

As I got older and got driver licence would go to drive-in on Thursday night special. $1 for as many as you could put in the---and trunk:)

I think I told this before but used to pick up bottles worth 2 cents back then for spending money, however biggest payday of year was 2 day seminary picnic that had lots of rides.Would get up before light and workers arrived and ride bike there and get change in the saw dust that fell out of pockets beneath the rides that turned people upside down, after I clean up there would go through sawdust at the beer gardens and salvage what the drunks dropped.:p

Rolled there cigs packs in there T- shirt sleeves. Yes!
Drive in movies and the saying was. Lots of ass felt there.
My first hot rod 55 chev convert.
Sock hops. Guys standing around trying to look cool. While all the girls were dancing.
Lets go for a walk meant you were going to get alittle.
Bottles taken back to the store for 2 cents a piece. Remember that well. We would sneek on peoples porches and steal the bottles.
