I was looking at the Tennessee/Miami game earlier today to see if their was any trends or angles. Then it hit me. Each year many schools have a home and home series with an out of conference opponent. I did not research the MAC or the Sun Belt or other smaller conferences, so sorry if I offended anyone but I just did not have the time to research them. I took a quick look at the major conferences. Many teams started these kind of series this year so I will follow this angle next year from the beginning of the season. What I have compiled are 17 different series that ended this year or will be completed this year. I did not use series that teams consistently play out of conference year in and year out.
Here we go..............
Teams that won both games in the 2 games series are:
Georgia over Clemson
G.Tech over Vandy
Va.Tech over Texas A&M
Wisconsin over WV
Maryland over WV
Colorado over UCLA
Oklahoma over Alabama
USC over Auburn
Oregon over Miss. St.
Northwestern over Duke
NC St. over T.Tech
Total = 11
Teams that split the 2 games series are:
FSU/ND
Vir./SC
G.Tech/BYU
UNC/SU
UNC/ASU
WF/Purdue
Texas A&M/Pitt
Penn St./Nebraska
Oregon St./Fresno St.
Total = 9
So how will Tennessee do this Saturday after losing to Miami last year 26-3 at home?
Thoughts??
Sorry I don't have the ATS in each series but it is something I will research more for next year. Wish I had of followed this angle all year.
