NIU got their "wake up" game 2 weeks ago vs Bowl-Green.Then they went out and beat Ball St 48-23.Buffalo celebrated their upset win over Ohio 2 weeks ago and got blown away by Toledo 56-29.
NIU has beaten the Marylands,Bama's and Iowa St's.Has struggled vs some MAC teams but never the less won.
Turner is an All American back rushing for over 1,400 yds and 8 td's.Harris adds to the Huskies ground attack.That is a tough duo to stop.Add Haldi the Qb who is having a great yr but somewhat overlooked.All he has done is throw at a 62% clip,just under 2,000 passing yds and 18 td's.
NIU defense has over 17 ints and a good takeaway ratio.
Buffalo still cannot play defense.Their offense came alive a little the past few weeks. Secky is avg and their only brite spot is Wr Knueven.But the Bulls defense cannot stop the run.They have given up 25 rushing Td's and 19 thru the air.Overall defense is giving up just under 500yds per game.
I won 4 or 5 games with Buffalo.Then lost one,passed on one and won big again last week.Their home record vs ats is 1-3.Add lyr's 1-4 ats at home and the yr before 2-3.Thats combined 4-10.
Last 2 times back in "99 and 2000 NIU spanked Buffalo 73-10 and 45-21.
Haldi will get great pass protection,Ol will open up huge holes in Bulls defense and Turner will "run,run,run,till the daddy takes the T-bird away.
Conn -7 over Rutgers or Rutgers +7.5
Tough,tough game to capp.Spent so much time on it.Loved Rutgers early in the week but the more I capped and played with numbers the brain leaned to my Conn neighbors. But.....
Rutgers has to many injuries.Hairston their super frosg RB is out.Their top MLB Hutchinson is out too.Tres Moses their top Wr has been out but will play.At best he is 75-85% ready.
Schaino is forced to start frosh Thompson at MLB and move Glikison to weak side.
Hart on offense has really played well.Named BE Pl-of week.Back to back 300yds games.Had 384 yds vs WV and 316 vs temple.I like Leonard and Facyson running the ball.I think Ru offense cam move and score vs UConn' s defense.RU Ol has really improved.
RU hasn't had a meaningful Nov game in 5 yrs.They are 4-4.But they only beat Army,Navy,Temple and the powerhouse Buffalo.I know they lost to tough teams too like VT,WV,Mich St,and Pitt.And did compete vs them.
UConn has one of the best Qbs in the country in 6'5 Orluvsky[Just under 3,000 yds and 29 td's].Ol has protected him.His Wr's arejust a little above avg.Caulley their top Rb was lost early in the season.But Edsall has found replacements for him.Last week Brockington had 5 tds rushing.
UConn defense DB's are weak.I said it here 2 months ago.In last 4 games they have given up scores of 27,37,31,and 31 vs NC St,Kent St,Akron and W-Mich.Uconn like RU has only beaten Indiana,ArmyLehigh,Kent W-Mich,Akron and of course powerhouse Buffalo.They did beat Buffalo 38-7 to RU's 24-10 score.
Uconn is playing at home.Lyr Conn beat RU 20-19.RU is more athletic.Their bigger and faster overall.Conn is bowl eligilble with a 7-3 record.But RU could go over .500 with a win.
Both teams are evenly matched but Conn has Orluvsky a top Qb.Can RU running game keep him off the field?Maybe.
I spent to much time on this game to not have some sort of opinion.Conn's special teams are bad.Akron almost ran back to punts.RU has a dangerous returner in Allen.I have predicted for 5 weeks he will return one for a Td.I'm 0-5 their.But just maybe today he breaks one and keeps the Scarlet nites under the + 7.5.
Small play....though because Uconn could win by 2 tds easy.

No more DeBerry vs Berry....I loved that head line.AF is coming off a 3 ot loss to Utah.AF already has lost to Navy so the CIC trophy could be in jeopardy.But not really.The line -26 has never been this high.It's been -17,13,7,15,13,etc.And AF has covered those lines.The home team has dominated this series.AF has won 6 in a row,13 of last 14.Army hasn't won in Colorado since 1977.
Lets not forget army has lost 24 of their last 25 road games.But army has covered the spread in its last 3 or 4 games.
There is no love lost between these 2 teams.Army always feels its standards are better.DeBerry hated Berry.But he is gone now and DeBerry asst coach is on line for the army job.
AF blew away North texas.They rank 3rd in the nation in rushing.Harridge has more yards himself then the entire Army offense.It's a small play for AF because AF might let the Black Nites get a backdoor cover.
A small side note.Army's 6'6 Wr Alexander is on line to break several single reception records today and next week.One of those people thats holds that record is a close and personnel friend of mine.He is now teaching and coaching in Pa.After graduating from the Point he was stationed in Germany and was involved in an automobile crash on the autoban.Had massive head injuries and had to resign from the Army.Had the privlege of teaching with him for yrs.When Alexander does break his record I will give MF a call.He is still handicapped somewhat today.A tragic story....

Colorado +5 over Mizzou....really like this game.think Mizzou on the road will struggle.
Notre Dame -8 over Navy.....ND OL should dominate Navy defense.Jones should gain 200 yds.Candeto and Eckel will have big games vs Irish defense but by the time the 3rd qrt rolls around ND will be up by 2 or 3 tds' and navy will have to pass.
North Texas -17 over UL Monroe....NT will clinch another Bowl game tonite.Lyr they beat them 41-2 in Denton.Cobb is leading the nation in rushing and Hall just throws 10-15 for 2 or 3 tds.NT defense smells Naw Leans.UL players still have whiplash injuries from Auburn 73-3 loss.
