PREVIOUS POST:
Ix I agree it was an assanine post but no worse than the previous.. Find out where he lives and get a gun? I was trying to bring light to how dumb that statement was. From one of the best writers on this website. I respect Nolan bigtime, but that was rediculous. Him wanting Redmond shot, is the same as someone who may follow blindly on some peoples picks and wanting to shoot them for their bad days.
Think about it.
NOLAN'S REPLY:
If you have been reading my posts and reports for any length of time, you know I make a lot of outlandish statements. Obviously, many are meant in jest (not the bottles thrown on the field statement though -- I stand by that one!)
I suppose the "get a gun" statement is much like the Maryland Governer's wife making the comment that she'd like to "shoot" Brittany Spears. Certainly, that was not meant to encourage her death, but I totally understand and AGREE with the point she was making.
Chris Redman will never read this board. Even so, I'm not too worried about his feelings or the threat of a wacko going out and killing him. Never in sports history has such a thing EVER happened (disgruntled bettors).
Regarding my responsbility, I certainly have made some bad picks. No question about it. But I'm not paid $2 million a year and I never got a $3 million signing bonus. When you assume the title of pro multi-million dollar athlete, such criticisms go with the territory. We have a different standard for the pro millionaire as opposed to a "RudY" like figure playing college football for some minor division school.
Futhermore, when I lose, I get angry about it. I care deeply about what I am doing and am extrmely ticked off when things do not go according to plan. Not to compare myself to Redman (although you did), I saw none of that fire in his eyes or on his face at ANY point tonight. All I saw was someone who will soon be out of football, and with good reason -- since he cost the Ravens a ball game tonight. For what it's worth, I had a huge wager on the Ravens in the 2Q, at +3 and smaller wagers on them in the other quarters. So, Redman's god-awful performance really didn't cost me much tonight.
Its not personal, just business.
