Gonna mainly wait and play at HT, but these were a few early games I like. CELTS should go all out tonite since they are off til MONDAY after this game. CAVS will want to come out running and I see BOST obliging and this being a track meet for awhile. Eventually CELTS pull away and win this by double digits. I see the total hitting 190, probably 96 by HT.

WASH and MIAMI should have a snail race here and if the fans make it thru the game without sleeping, well they should look up to see about 165 pts on the board... who wins? who cares? :shrug:

PACERS and SONICS are two of the hottest teams in the NBA so far, but I think SONICS bubble gets burst in INDY. I've always like playing INDY and BOST at home on FRI nites, and if I'm not mistaken, both failed to cover last week, so I'm hoping they get back to the norm and winning by double digits!

Still looking at later games, but I'm thinking that may be it til HT.

I forgot... got a 2 UNIT TEASER I'm playing... it's a SWEETHEART teaser in the NBA and it's 3 teams / 8 pts. Here's the play:

BOSTON +1
NETS -1/2
LAKERS -1/2

The plan here is simple... I'm expecting NETS and CELTS NOT to lose back to back HOME GAMES, and if that happens, I have a nice MIDDLE set up for the later game. I like the LAKERS in the FH tonite, thinking of laying the 5.5 on that. BUT if I don't, I can alway hedge one unit of DET at HT, or before tip-off and have the nice 8 pt middle. BET GCS is giving free half pt, so I can get DET +9 if I decide to go that route.

Because the lines in the NBA are normally very tight, I try and find situations where I can do this. IF there are two strong home teams at -8 or 9, and the LAKERS are playing later, I set it up. LAKERS are a huge pub favorite, so you either play the LAKERS early or the OVER, both usually get bet up. Then, when the early games cover, you got your 9 pt middle all set up. You risk 2 units on the early games, but it's the same as laying 1 on each, but I'm getting 8 pts off the spread. PLUS the fact if the first two win, you can let it ride, or hedge, depending on how the nite is going for you. I've been burnt by waiting til HT, but it's a good situation in the NBA and NFL. I do it often in both PRO SPORTS. Funny how many games fall within that 8 pt margin in NBA, and 10 pts in NFL.

NFL gives you opportunity to tease to MON from SUNDAY which is what I normally do. Set up a big middle game for MNF. Tonite there are three late NBA games you can pick from. Choose two early games and tease to the late game you like... you never know, you may just enjoy this angle.

There are of course, no guarantees your first two games cover. Just two nites ago, BOST and PHOE were both home favorites of 8 or 9 and BOTH lost outright! It happens... but what would it have mattered if you had played those two straight?? Same result, -220. My point is, the NBA is a tough number to beat. Any advantage you can garner in any wagering activity has to be considered. The situation tonite has two home teams that have in the past dominated their opponents, both going 9-1 straight up in their last ten meetings. Both are coming off home losses in their last game, and playing before a huge sellout and more than likely drunk rowdy I just got paid crowd, and this normally bodes well for the home team. I'm playing the better team in both games at home, and all I need to do is win the game, which both have done 9 of the last 10 times...

Two other games, albeit a bit riskier that come to mind are the JAZZ and SIXERS. Teasing the JAZZ to +14 and the SIXERS at home +15.5 sounds pretty good. Can't see SIXERS getting blown out at home despite the injuries. They are pretty much a one "little" man team anyhow, and JAZZ are playing very well, going all out til the final buzzer as we saw the other nite with them fouling late in the game, despite trailing big. MINNY is coming off the OT win in CHICAGO and may not have the legs to blow out a JAZZ team that isn't gonna quit. After explaining this situation, I've decided to add another teaser, again going to the LAKERS which if I'm alive in both, will DEFINITELY trigger a buyback middle play on the PISTONS.

JAZZ + 14.5
SIXERS +15
LAKERS +1/2 for two units

IF the early games go well, I'll have FOUR UNITS riding on LAKERS +1/2, which I'll hedge with 2 Units on DET +8 or 9, whatever I can find! I may only hedge One Unit and wait til HT... we'll see how the nite is treating me...

Just noticed your thread tonite RISKBREAKER... glad I'm not the only one playing these! I have been reluctant to post them in my thread because many are so opposed to such a wager. IN most sports, I agree... especially COLLEGE FB/BB because so many games get to be way off.... but PROS, please... these guys are paid and so are the refs, the game has to stay close to keep the interest... CLOSE to the number that is, not the FINAL!

Went 2-2 early... letting the 4 units ride on the LAKERS!

I mean come on, as a fan, can't you expect your team to win the game! We're at home in STAPLES for crying out loud, how the PISTONS gonna give us game..... MAYBE I'll be hedging at HT, but for now, I'm riding this 4 UNIT PLAY out....
