I don't think Ct Defense will fare too well today at Wake who has been running the ball very well of late . I think that Wake will control this game start to finish.......mixing a decent passing game (60% about 200 yds) with the strong run to beat the big number.

Ct gave up 250 yds to a mediocre Rutgers running attack last week and to add to defense problems...OT Sean Mulcahey....who has not missed a game in 4 years is OUT
Also out is one of the better athletes WR and former qb Keron Henry....sprained knee catching a 72 yd td last week.

Worse, Rutgers really outplayed CT and deserved better. AT CT.
CT has been pulling out the Ws on the last plays of games and has not lost since NC St pulled one out against them on the last play interception. Soooooooooooooo

Previous to last week CT was outplaying opponents big and keeping games close with turnovers and BAD special teams....
Last week ....for only the second time this year CT got its ass kicked.....but they won the game. I think that Wake is ready for CT.... CT is a little shorthanded on D (where they cant afford it)

AND they wont be able to stop Wake.........Because of CT offense this will be just a small play but CT luck runs out today.

Wake...42....... CT 27

also, most teams who are not familiar with wake's style of play usually fair poorly, especially in winston-salem. wake employs a lot of cross blocking schemes that result in a lot of chop blocking. teams that haven't had to deal with this before are often unnerved by trying to keep linemen off of their legs inside the box.

Loophole is exactly right on the blocking scheme used by Grobe, tough to matchup against if you only see it once a year. I like Wake here the only reservation that I have on them will the secondary show up this week? Wake will score alot today but UCONN may throw 40-45 passes today and the secondary for Wake has been shaky altely, but in turn with UCONN will have to deal with Wake's running game. The loss last week by Wake was very misleading they drove the first three possessions deep into their opponets territory yet came away with only 3 points.

Great info...

Great info...

Loophole...........thanks for the info........Was not aware of trouble newbies have with wake's blocking schemes.......interesting and will watch that today!

Ct numbers are big but against much weaker opposition in most cases..... momentum........is important .........and CT
is just not playing that well on either side of the ball. Wake will run and CT secondary will give up a big one.....Wake advantage on turnovers and home field.....playing for bowl elegibility...

Buddy.....I am READY....for hoops...Football is almost an afterthought already...
Big news in Storrs is freshman Josh Boone...who will be the starting power forward...wow...is he impressing everyone. 15 boards, 9 blocks and 12 points on 6-6 shooting in 23 min...in last exhibition against sub-par competition....Villanueva should have gone to the NBA...he may have trouble getting pt at CT.(kidding about that but pt will be an issue at CT) I still like Pitt this year
in the Big east as a moneymaker they're big and good again....of course Howland will be missed and the generalship of Brandon Knight but they have some good additions and will still play D...and Sryacuse will surprise noone. Nova and St Johns are in for a looooong year. YUP.......I'm ready!

I only watched a few minutes of the Pitt game last night, but for what I saw, Krauser didn't look so hot. Lot of bad decisions.
