A line has been posted Okla -12 USC. Thinking of taking Okla here, and then maybe the line will go up and try and get the middle, any thoughts on this one. Of course these two must play for action.

line looks a little higher than i expected. i expected usc to be about an 8.5 or 9 point dog. didnt expect double digits.

sometimes a line is set high for a reason (to sway money toward the dog) but the last few times its happened, the dog has won outright (miami/osu and okie/florida state)

if thats the line, id have to play usc -- even though ive got a great respect for oklahoma

Take USC +12.5 and ML

"FACTS"

USC has won 25 of their last 29 games.

USC has only lost by double digits once in the last 3 years. (@ ND by 11pts when USC even blew a lead in that game in Pete Carrolls 1st year)

I think USC will give OU all they can handle and if USC gets healthy (right now really banged up), I think USC has good chance in beating OU. Yep, i said it.

I don't think OU has seen a team like USC. USC is very fast, skilled players, multiple playmakers, and most of all very well coached. OU has also those same qualities, but I think NORM CHOW knows how to beat the OU defense. OU has not had to defend an offense as balanced and fast as USC all year. USC has faced very good offenses all year in the pac 10 so I think coming into this game USC is more battle tested. YES I KNOW TEXAS IS TALENTED, loads of talent, but Texas cannot even compare to USC right now. Also Texas is a different team now than when OU played them. Also Texas does not hve as strong passing/running game/balance as USC. I think USC can win this game because of their offense. USC has a good defense this year with great DL. I did not say USC will beat OU, i said they can.

scott:

on a neutral field, texas vs usc would be an outstanding matchup. and yes. they could compare to usc right now. you know very well that ive been a southern cal believer for quite some time, but a texas/usc matchup would be very intriguing and would be a toss-up (although usc would probably be favored by 3 or 4)

 Humm, was thinking back a few years ago when Fla. St. was a 9 point favorite over the Sooners in the championship game and Joe Public was all over the Noles-9. First knee-jerk reaction, take the points and Sooners win, but no cover. Still not sure thats a play, just a thought. Good luck, Buck

Texas would hve very little chance in beating USC. I am positive Texas could not stop the USC offense. If USC played Texas this week, your right, Texas would give USC a game only because USC has a ton of major injuries right now on defense. But if USC played Texas in the bowl game, USC would win hands down.

Another factor why USC would destroy Texas.......

PETE CARROLL AND NORM CHOW! USC would do to Texas what USC did to Iowa last year in Orange Bowl. And Iowa was/is very well coached team, Texas is not.

Even Texas fans were saying USC would whip them in the Holiday Bowl. They did not want to play USC. But this was 3-4 weeks ago so maybe they changed their opinion because they are playing better football.

If USC was -3 vs Texas in Bowl game (Holiday Bowl), I would bet my whole account on USC (like i did with USC -3 against UCLA last year). Provided USC gets healthy of course. Just my opinion of course. I would love USC to play Texas in the regular season.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

when you say the usc would do to texas what they (usc) did to iowa last year......thats when you gotta take off the usc boxers, the usc foam finger, and put down the usc pom poms. ive been in your corner for the most part with a lot of the pro-usc things you post, but usc would not lay an 2203 orange bowl-esque ass whooping on texas. thats stupid.

not even going to weigh in on this one...I know when I might come across as a homer and I know when I won't. this is one time where it might seem like that and I will keep my mouth shut.

however, I just will never understand how someone can "objectively" say a team can't do this, or can't do that. Scott, they play these games for a reason. Since you don't know what it is I will tell you. They play the games and make a line because anything can happen. Now, I am sure you have had success looking/betting on USC games, but how can you say USC would do to ANY team what they did to Iowa last year? What about an injury in the middle of the game? What about weather maybe changing things? You just don't seem to understand that you can, if you want to, put your opinions out there without stating them as fact.

USC is good. Texas is playing better than they were earlier in the season. I think that matchup would be fun. Odds are USC would win by taking apart the UT secondary, but you never know.

I said I wouldn't say much so I won't...just lighten up with the "I know this" or "USC WOULD do this/that" just say what could happen and let it play out as it may...then you don't look like a homer or sound like a dumbass...especially if you are ever wrong (which i can tell has probably never been the case).

I don't understand your post.

This is my prediction. Of course there are variables and things that can happen. I am making my prediction on what I think would happen if USC played Texas. You can make your prediction and expect a close game. I think if things play out the way both teams have played all year, USC would win by a wide margin. My guess? USC wins 41-24.

Of course my prediction could be wrong. Does not make me a homer or anything.

i think my post is clear. you come across not with your prediction, but something that you make out to be an undeniable truth. If you are predicting such bold statements and stating things that I doubt you have any clue about (texas coaching) then it would be best to preface some of these things with an "I think" or "my prediction is."

I am positive Texas could not stop the USC offense
and when you are positive about something that is not usually a statement of opinion/prediction. when you are positive about something you usually KNOW that that is how something will go...simply put, you don't.

I will stop with the semantics and leave you to your posts from here on out...gotta agree with Dr. Freeze

Okla City
Try living here in Oklahoma City, I have quit reading the local papers and watching local sports. OU is the greatest team that has ever played and Bob Stoops has forgotten more about football than Knute Rockne ever knew.

They like Ohio State last year prove that schedule is EVRYTHING in college football. A playoff is a must!
