I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow for a few days. I was thinking of playing some poker playing some lower limit Hold 'em on Thursday, 3-6 maybe 4-8. Thoughts on the best places to play? Staying at Ceasars. Thanks for the help.

I played a few rounds at the Sahara while I was there last month. They have a small poker room, but GOD are the games SOFT!

I played some 2-4 hold em and ran over the table in a very short time.

In the evenings they have a 1-4-8-8 limit game which again, is terribly soft and ripe for the pickings.

As f*cked up as it sounds.. people were COMPLAINING that I was only playing A-10 or better and pocket pair hands.
Family pots were NOT uncommon there and people will call you down to the river with bottom pair no kicker. "just to keep you honest"

That wasnt just one day... that was an entire week.
The old guy that runs the joint in the evening is pretty fun and personable as well. If you go, tell him his lieutenant says hello.

The games at the Stardust were a lil bit better as far as skill level goes.

But if you are at the ceasars... you have to go next door and play some at the Bellagio... you just gotta!

Thanks Marine. I'll make sure that I get down there. I had heard that the games at Bellagio (my favorite casino) were pretty sharp. You're thoughts on that.

Naturally, they are. Fullyagree with that statement about the Bellag. But of course, it is the premiere joint down there so what else can you expect?

I played there one session while in Vegas. Bought into a $200 buy in no limit game. Luckily for me, there were 3 men at the table that had minimal to zero experience playing cards and just wanted to play and have a good time. So the focus was not on me thank god. It was a tough game and the players where very good and sharp for the most part. I ended the session down like 3 bucks after it was all said and done, but many times I had to sweat it out pretty good to walk away in that shape.

Wednessday the sahara has a good no limit hold em tourney at 7 pm. 40 buy in and 20 rebuy. From what they said, you get the most tourney chips for the 40 than anywhere on the strip. Usually between 40-60 people play it, so I think they said top 8 got paid. Not bad, but it does draw a good crowd that hang around for ring games later on.

I really enjoyed playing at Mandalay Bay...well, there wasn't really anything I didn't enjoy about MB. They have soft 4-8 games but do put together one or two tables of 6-12 on a busy night.
