I did not mention the Ole Miss/Fla game at any time on this forum, but I can tell you that LSU seems to have an advantage over Ole Miss as far as common opponents are concerned. As far as Ole Miss scoring 20 and winning by 10, I think it could happen.

FYI, I began "capping" games in High School in the late 80s. My "system" only involved margin of victory against common opponents. I assure you that I lost my a$$ off using this strategy.

As for the game, Ole Miss tends to stick with the run even when it has stopped working. Its like they are of the mentality "We're going to run the ball and thats that!" This has almost cost them a game or two. They're ability to adjust and attack the LSU secondary will be a huge factor. It seems like Ole Miss always trys to establish a run game first, then goes to the air. I've often wondered what kind of success they could have by going to the air first...:shrug:

I think the Manning factor will come to effect in this game. Archie, Peyton and now Eli.

Archie was the Saints savior ... yeah, right. Loved the guy, was my hero growing up.

Peyton... No National Champ. with Tenn., but wins the Heismann. No Super Bowl with the Colts any time soon.

Eli... Will continue to blow big games. Mostly desperation bombs getting him lots of points, and some comeback wins. Similar to Peyton. Can't take the pressure, it's not his fault, it's just the way they're built.

I've watched every LSU game the last few seasons, (well, except W. Illinois, etc.) and they have surprised me the way they have performed in certain situations against opponents as well as in game situations against certain opponents. It;s like I feel confident laying the wood with these guys. Kinda reminds me of the Marlins this season, I felt confidence in laying the cash when they were playing. Saban is a hell of a coach, probably one the the top 5 in NCAA right now, and somehow he's got these guys believing and not blowing the big games. It's tough playing the SEC, and the out of conference scheduled sucked, but aside from the Florida mental blackout, the Tigers dominated their games. Hell, even the Georgia game.

I might be wrong, but I got that feelin'.

I too have made nice coin fading the Tigers, especially in the Dinardo era. As previously stated, I think the pick here is Ole Miss, although I would never fade the Tigers in such a crucial game.

I must add that the repeated Top 5 recruiting classes are beginning to take effect. We are top to bottom as talented as any team in the nation. Many of the upperclassmen have been playing regularly for 3-4 years due to the depth problems which Saban encountered upon his arrival. I think(hope) that Saban stays because he realizes that this program is capable of reaching elite status. We fill Tiger Stadium with 90,000+ every game(even when we sucked), the Administration is very supportive of the program(facilities are outstanding and getting better) and Louisiana has a VERY rich talent pool. I would be surprised if another state in the nation produced more pro talent per capita. One thing Saban has done is recruit New Orleans and Baton Rouge, which have been ravaged by ND, Mich, FSU, OSU, etc. for years.

If anything I would say that his biggest and well known strength is ability to stay calm and react well under pressure. The only UM losses this year were results of poor defense. You may be right on LSU covering here but it would be due to a talent and size factor not your so called "Manning Factor". I think he will play well on Saturday.

Furthermore, LSU did not beat Georgia, Georgia beat themselves.

That's what I meant. Peyton didn't win the championship nor Heisman. That's even worse.

I know the Manning's have said that Eli is the best, etc, etc., since he was a sophomore. Just seen him get flustered last few years when things were tough. He is better this year, but he better be better. He's got to play a team with a Defense. We'll se how he reacts to the multiple blitzes. He'll probably scorch the secondary a few times, but will probably be hurried and knocked down a bunch too.
It's just that the Manning legacy has been that of the loveable and very talented losers, kinda like a stigma. maybe Eli can overcome it, but I'm going to bet against it. I'll probably be doing some teasers, though also.

As for Georgia, I don't know what game you watched, but I saw a good defense making Greene struggle big time. He looked like a chicken with his head cut off for a good while there. Props to him for pulling it out for a little while and making the game interesting at one point. I expect much of the same for this game.

I don't know if I'd lay more than 6'.
