ok hockey cappers.........I reported a bad hockey line at that I found at Olympic.........the right thing to do right :)

ok.......here is what happened........

I called them up........told them the game.....and they immediately saw that the line was WAY off..........

so they throw 7 dollars US in my account.........my question is this:

shouldn't I have received more then 7 dollars

now keep in mind.......I had NO MONEY in my account......and also note that I'm not like most of Olympic players that bet 2 or 3 dimes a game.........but should that matter

I mean this mistake probably would NOT have been caught for some time....or not at all.........I mean I saved them money......I'd say odds were 50/50 that this mistake would not have even been caught.........

I was thinking AT LEAST they'd throw in 50 bucks US....AT LEAST......I mean I could have deposited money (as I said I had none in there) and bet it...........

ok madjackers.....what do you say...........didn't I do the honourable thing

Whats wrong with just accepting the fact that you did a good deed and leaving it at that? Why do you feel you "need" to be compensated? For example, you see a woman, alone, broken down on the side of the road, just staring at her flat tire like she has no idea how to change it. You stop, assist her, get her on her way, save her $100 that the tow truck would have charged, and then put your hand out asking for $50? The satisfaction of knowing I did the right thing would be enough for me personally, no need for monetary compensation. Why must people always feel they must get rewarded for doing the right thing........

ok......one vote for do nothing :D

and as for the "help a girl with a flat tire" analogy, doesn't quite fly here...we are talking about sportsbooks here.......not too many people have been "shafted" by flat tires at the side of the road.........

but yes.....do see your point.....that's why I put question out to the form :p

so far ....one vote "got screwed" and one vote "just be happy"

Wow...I reported a bad line once before at a popular - but not a sponser here - book and I got $5 so you did better than I did KS. I thought that was the norm so I never said anything.

Kickserv.... I've reported 2 bad lines to Olympic the past 2 weeks and didn't recieve anything from them...

I've reported many bad lines over the past few years at various books... sometimes I get something in return and sometimes I don't... but I always report it as I think that chances are if you just play it, it will get voided anyways...

GL :D

Hmmm, doesnt quite fly here. What part of that doesnt? Because they are a sportsbook? What if that lady on the side of the road was Mrs H Ross Perot? Yea, she has a ton of $$$, but isnt it the satisfaction of doing a good deed and not how much you can make $$$ wise for such a small thing? Thegreek is a great book, they do have to make $$$ to you know, and even though thats who we are trying to beat, doing the right thing shouldnt require compensation. What if your mom was extremely wealthy, and broken down on the side of the road, out of cell phone range, and couldnt contact anyone, and I am driving up on her? Personally, id stop and help her, anyway i could, and wouldnt take a dime for it, but then again, im from the south and we do things differently down here i guess.......:p

Thanks for response guys.........and thanks Chris for the e-mail address :p

and UT....ya missed my point.......what I was saying had nothing to do with the $$ in a sportsbooks bank account.........however I do see what your getting at :p

is interesting to see the wide variety of responses......everything from 100 dollars to 0 dollars........interesting info indeed

That's why ya have to love madjacks....wide variety of opinions....you have Bobby Blue Chip making fun of me and Mr. Hockey yelling at me (General Forum) and others saying I got ripped......and yet others saying be happy with the 7 bucks......as I said interesting stuff :p

When you say "You saved them some $$$" it has been my experience that when I see a bad line and bet it, they never give you credit for it anyway, they just give the $$$ back of the initial wager, or reduce to next smaller parlay, etc...

Personally, I feel that someone at Olympic screwed up doing a job they were supposed to do and if you are a player and catch the bad line you should be able to take advantage of it. That is not the case so I have changed my thinking to that if i see a bad line I just leave it alone and wait for them to catch it and if I want to play that game I would call them and tell them I want to put in my play, but don't want it cancelled so....however I usually have another out so that rarely happens.

As far as a reward goes I would take what they will give me but would not expect anything in return. I am not sure that the lady and flat tire thing would be considered the same scenario in my book or analogy or whatever you want to call it as I have and will help a lady stranded on side of road. I have nothing against her, but the sportsbook is my ENEMY and want every advantage I can get.

just my 2 cents

I have reported many bad lines at 5dimes and they give you 30 cents off any line as a reward.

Remember, the monetary reward is insignificant compared to the good karma you just gave yourself. :)

For what it's worth my rewards have ranged from $0 to $50 for pointing out errors.
