200+ against a top 25 run defense is damn impressive in my opinion. Especially since they (MSU) would be ranked much higher had Perry not run for so many yards on them. BTW Did Jones get 200 against anyone this season?

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one. As gman said above, Perry is the best and most productive back in the nation. Jones is the best pro prospect and pure runner.

The Heisman, as we all know, is awarded to the most outstanding individual player in the country....not the most outstanding individual player on the best team.

Would White be putting up these numbers if he played at Pitt? NO. At Michigan...? MAYBE. At Ohio State...? DEFINATELY NOT!

Would Larry Fitzgerald be putting up his same stats at any of those above mentioned schools? With the exception of Ohio State, I think they'd be better.

I would vote like this...
1. Fitzgerald
2. Perry
3. White
4. Manning

One thing about Fitzgerald and his #'s. I don't think he is the best WR in the country, i think Mike Williams is. Mike Williams does not have the #'s as Fitzgerald because he has an awesome WR COLBERT playing on the opposite side of him. Plus USC uses many weapons in their offense. Fitzgerald is the go to guy and only guy for Pitt.

Fitzgerald I think is awesome WR, don't get me wrong, but I think people want to give him the heisman because of his TD streak. I am not sure if that alone is worthy enough of a Heisman.

I also wonder why Leinart is not on your list? Not saying he should win it, but curious to why he is not on your list?

Leinart has much better Completion %, practically the same amount of passing yards but with 50 less passing attempts, and Leinart has 6 more touchdown passes. Both have 1 more game to go in the year, and Oregon St. is heads above Miss. St.

you have to look at eli manning ! all those other schools have much more talent than ole miss. perry is great, but manning is the only reason this team has the record they do. he should be the #1 pick in the draft next year. few if any, of the ole miss rec will ever play a meaningful down in the nfl. eli wearing the silver & black next year, baby. eli will not win this award but i think he is the best player in college. fyi- i cheered against his bro every game he played at tenn. not a manning homer here.

Nothing wrong thinking Fitzgerald is the best, and he might be. I just think if Mike Williams did not have Colbert playing opposite side of him, Williams would have better #'s. Being the go to guy and being part of a system will affect the #'s you put up. Funny thing is yesterday I heard Lee Corso talk on the radio about who he thought was the best WR in the nation. He said Mike Williams was. I know many people could care less what Corso thinks, just thought i throw that out there since he always is on TV and does College Gameday.

The stats are perfectly fine. There is a difference between an informed opinion & a biased one where any counterpointing is shot down because it doesn't jive with their opinion.
