Speaking of grocery lines.....this is about the time of the year when I go shopping at about midnight....everybody and God in the stores with all the x-mas shopping......
As far as Vegas being built.....I would venture the $$$ came more from slots and the gaming tables from vacationers than from sports gamblers.....people seem to forget there are people who USED TO BE BOOKIES......not all of them make money, some actually do go broke.....
Sad thing about all the gambling issues is that outside of Nevada, about all the legal forms of gambling are scams basically when you consider the profit margin in them......I don't see any reason whatsoever in playing scratch cards, pickle cards, keno......I see people sticking thier whole paycheck into a pickle card dispenser.....twenty dollars at a time, usually getting about $2.50 back, and that goes back in the machine with the next twenty........
Sports gambling, in my opinion, is about the only legitimate chance bettors have of winning $$$.......the card counters playing blackjack also come to mind but once they're discovered they're run out of town......
