What a great match-up this is going to be. Georgia walks into the Dome as a three point underdog. The crowd will be unbelievable. I've been to the last three SEC cahmpionship games, and I don't expect to miss this one. Two years ago, LSU came into Atlanta and dominated the Volunteers. Last year, the Dawgs murdered the Hogs. This year, you can expect that the fourth quarter will mean a lot more than in recent years.
LSU has an outstanding defense and a better than average offense. Don't let last week's score fool you into thinking any differently. Costly turnovers (mostly unforced) allowed the Tigers to put points on the board. They were relentless when given opportunities, though, and I feel this will be the key for Georgia to stay in this game. If Greene and company can keep the ball off the turf, the Dawgs stand a good chance of competing. If not, it looks like the sports bar conversation about how the BCS is a terrible system will be in full force with Cie Grant and Scott4USC battling about who deserves to get beat by Oklahoma (just kidding because I think both teams would compete against the Sooners).
Georgia goes into this weekend healthier than they've been since the first day of Spring Practice. Will a healthy roster be enough to overcome LSU's talent? In my opinion, no. I see LSU outlasting Georgia by kicking a late field goal to win by three. I see no value in taking either side here. I think that both defenses will create easy opportunities for their offenses to score. LSU will capitalize more from this and pull out the victory.
My only lean is to the OVER 41'.
Would love to hear other's comments.
As for home field: Georgia will probably have a 60-40 advantage in the fan base at the game maybe slightly higher but not much.
