cie grant--looks like you have a nice weekend planned. our office used to be in the Peachtree Center, and that Charlie's and Barney's is a good place to hang out. Bones is AWESOME, but I think a bit overpriced. For an off the wall restaurant experience, I would highly recommend Fogo de Chao. It is a Brazilian eatery where you flip a disc to green and the meat (beef, chicken, pork, and specialty meats) come in droves from waiters sporting skewers of freshly cooked meat. Flip the disc to red to have them stop, and they won't stop unless you do this! If you go, ask one of the servers to bring the bacon wrapped filets around--these are can't miss items! Salad bar there for the ladies, but you go here for the meat. Bones is directly across the street from the place, so if you change your mind--you won't regret it. These places are about two blocks from my house.
Chain Saw--I think you are referring to Maggiano's which I don't recommend over some of the other Italian joints around. Maggiano's is a chain. They have good food with huge portions at a good price, but there is better food to be had in the area. Maggiano's is a huge tourist attraction along with Cheesecake Factory, ESPN Zone, etc. but there are much better local restaurants close by.
The Buckhead Diner has great food. It's part of a restaurant group called Buckhead Life (Atlanta Fish Market above is a part of it). They are expensive restaurants, but they are DAMN good! Nava is their Southwestern style which is a few blocks down. Across from the Diner is the Buckhead Bread Company. If you are looking for a Brunch place, this is THE palce. Their chicken salad club is unbelievable.
Good luck this weekend with the game, CG.
