Cie,

When you get there, just jump in a cab and tell him to take you to Midtown. You can get out there and just walk. It's covered w/ bars and food. Don't go to Buckhead because it's turned into sh*t starting back to the Ray Lewis deal there during the Superbowl. Good luck and I agree w/ you about LSU. I think they will dominate the game.

What kind of bar are you looking for? Pub? Dance? Sports? Food--What type?

I'll try and help even though you are serving as the enemy this week!

At the bar
Listen to fatback when he says not to go to Buckhead. It's turned into thug central. Hang in midtown, bars are generally close together.

Stuman--ate at the Fish Market last night for my birthday. It's only three blocks from my house, so it was easy to get home after I stuffed myself sick! It is an excellent seafod restaurant.

When the B @ C and I stay in Atlanta, we like to stay in the Buckhead area. Great restaurants, shopping. We're not much into the bar scene. Couple of old fogies.

But I can recommend a couple of eateries in Buckhead. The Buckhead Diner is a great place. Also there's an Ialian restaurant, and I'm having a senior moment as to the name of the place dammit. It's close to a Marta stop on Peachtree. You can see the Swiss hotel across the street.

Help me somebody!!

I believe that this is where I will spend the majority of my weekend:

Join the LSU Atlanta Alumni Chapter as we mark our territory in the red clay Of North Georgia yet again (did we mention the Tigers sport a 3-0 record in the Georgia Dome?). Here's our guide to events this weekend Charlie and Barney's (231 Peachtree Center Ave NE, 404-688-0928, http://www.charlieandbarneys.com) will serve as LSU Atlanta's Downtown Headquarters from Thursday-Sunday. Located at Peachtree Center, connected to The downtown hotels such as the Hyatt and Marriott, Charlie and Barney's is located near a MARTA station and within walking distance from the Georgia Dome. Party till 4 a.m. on Thursday and Friday nights, or stop by starting at noon on gameday. Charlie and Barney's will feature the important USC-Oregon State game on its big screens at 4:30 on Saturday. And, for fans without tickets who head downtown for the pregame tailgating, make the walk over to Charlie and Barney's to watch LSU-Georgia at 8 p.m. Looking for a postgame party after the game in the Dome? Charlie and Barney's will be open till 3 a.m. Thanks to the Abita Brewing Company (http://www.abita.com) for helping make Charlie and Barney's the downtown home for Tiger fans this weekend!

cie grant--looks like you have a nice weekend planned. our office used to be in the Peachtree Center, and that Charlie's and Barney's is a good place to hang out. Bones is AWESOME, but I think a bit overpriced. For an off the wall restaurant experience, I would highly recommend Fogo de Chao. It is a Brazilian eatery where you flip a disc to green and the meat (beef, chicken, pork, and specialty meats) come in droves from waiters sporting skewers of freshly cooked meat. Flip the disc to red to have them stop, and they won't stop unless you do this! If you go, ask one of the servers to bring the bacon wrapped filets around--these are can't miss items! Salad bar there for the ladies, but you go here for the meat. Bones is directly across the street from the place, so if you change your mind--you won't regret it. These places are about two blocks from my house.

Chain Saw--I think you are referring to Maggiano's which I don't recommend over some of the other Italian joints around. Maggiano's is a chain. They have good food with huge portions at a good price, but there is better food to be had in the area. Maggiano's is a huge tourist attraction along with Cheesecake Factory, ESPN Zone, etc. but there are much better local restaurants close by.

The Buckhead Diner has great food. It's part of a restaurant group called Buckhead Life (Atlanta Fish Market above is a part of it). They are expensive restaurants, but they are DAMN good! Nava is their Southwestern style which is a few blocks down. Across from the Diner is the Buckhead Bread Company. If you are looking for a Brunch place, this is THE palce. Their chicken salad club is unbelievable.

Good luck this weekend with the game, CG.

The best restaurant in Atlanta is Bone's steakhouse, located in Buckhead. Best steak I have ever had.

dawgball- Thanks for helping to remember Maggiano's. Love the mussells they serve. I'm like you about Bone's. The food is good, no doubt about it. But it is overpriced. And I thought it was a little stuffy, if you know what I mean.

Cie Grant-hope you have a great time. Atlanta's a great town. Almost as great as Birmingham.

You definitely want to stay away from buckhead! Go to Visions on Sat. Night after the game for a serious club, a couple good resturants to go to would be Mid city cusine in midtown, Fuego de Chao or Bones. You cant go wrong with any of these!!!

Enjoy your stay..Cabo...
