Plays for Saturday. . .

Took a break this week as I was busy with work and didn't have time to look into games. . . have an early play:

OU +5 over Michigan State. . . game is played in Michigan but on a neutral floor. Is anyone impressed with MSU this year? Nearly blown out by Kansas but blown away by a very suspect Duke team. Five points just seems like too many to me as Oklahoma could very well win outright but should be a nice defensive battle. I'm still trying to figure out why the line is so high and why the consensus is on MSU for this one. . . perhaps high preseason expectations and the fact that Oklahoma hasn't played a top contender yet? Well, I'll take my chances against an obvious team that is struggling.

St. Mary's pk over USC. . . Line was released as USC favored by 3 but now all I can find is a pk or St. Mary's favored! Why so much money on this team? We'll ride the train and find out.

im close to adding michigan state, but only if the line gets to 4. the current 5 is a little too much for my liking. but i would never bet against izzo coming off that kind of game against duke. you could tell that game burned him inside. i really think that game is msu or nothin. i have way too much respect for izzo to think his guys wont be sharp tomorrow

as for st.mary's - im seeing mary's (-1) right now. youre right, line obviosly reeks. trojans dont have high expectations this year and already were blasted by western michigan. only concern is that line is TOO shaved. trojans coming off a high-scoring OT game on the quick turnaround. thats factored into the line a little. i can see this game being very tight. line absolutely says st.marys but id at least like to see them getting a few points to work with

Adding a game I really like:

Zags +2 over Maryland. . .

A young Maryland team playing away from home on a neutral court against a damn good Gonzaga team. Many will argue that the Zags can't be that great since they lost to St. Joes but I would challenge that St. Joes is also underrated.

Everyone saw how Maryland looked against Wisconsin pulling out an overtime thriller. . . I like this spot with the more veteran team getting points on a neutral floor.

Stanford +5.5 over Kansas. . .

You know, there is so much parity in college ball this year. . . is Kansas really #1? Is Florida really #2? Well, if Florida is #2, then how is Arizona #8 when they only lost to the Gators by a single point on a neutral floor? Maybe you get my point. . . the higher rated teams will almost always be giving up points simply because of their ratings. . . I don't think there is one team that has shown they are #1 but Kansas got the nod this week. Let's see how they do.

I like this game also.
Watched Md for several years and this edition plays a type of "streetball" that is not indicative of gary.

Liked wisky last game and thought I had the right side but did not cash.

Still am not impressed with the MD record and feel that Gonzo is in a good spot at +2.

Maryland is playing Gonzaga on a neutral floor and it looks to me like both teams are ranked.

I was hoping for one of those system plays to fit this Saturday and the one that comes closest is BYU over Oklahoma State. . . however, OSU is only ranked in one poll (minor problem) and it looks like the game is being played in Utah, but not on the BYU floor.

That being said, I still may play BYU as I had my eye on that one from the beginning.

thanks, i didnt know how the official rankings were, i was only looking at the sportsline scoreboard, i guess they just put the numbers with their ranking or something,i also like BYU, gl with your plays.

Yes, this game is being played on a neutral floor, the site of the game is washington, dc, which really makes this a home game for maryland. Also, the zags lost to st. joes and this one was also on a neutral floor. this one is a no play for me as just can't get a feel for which zags team will show up after a long west coast flight...

Adding Arizona laying 5 2nd half at Olympic

Lets see how well Arizona resembles previous Wildcat teams. . .

Cats will come out well out of the gate in the 2nd half. . . probably cut this Billiken lead to 2 or 3. . . then the Billikens will get a double digit lead around the middle of the 2nd half. Finally, Arizona will come all the way back, maybe even take the lead with around 5 minutes remaining but end up losing this game by 1 point.

ARIZONA DOESN'T LOOK GOOD AT ALL THE 1ST HALF OF YR......THEY WILL HAVE TO GET A LOT BETTER TO CHALLENGE FOR NATIONAL TITLE.........THEY LOOK PATHETIC. I WON'T BET ON THEM PROBABLY UNTIL MIDDLE OF SEASON.

On the contrary Wizzard, I think this was a big road win for them. . . gotta remember this is a young team. Billikens play very well at home but Arizona found a way to win with their quickness by drawing early fouls in the 2nd half to get on the free throw line.

Consider the time the game was played and the element, I think the Cats played just fine. . . they got lucky at the end there with the final shot being called a 2 instead of a 3, but Stoudamire missing a 1 and 1 against Florida was lucky for the Gators as well.

Is Arizona a top 5 team right now? No. . . but they can run right with Texas which should be a great game just like Arizona/Florida but both teams could reach 90 in that track meet.

Teams "get up" for better teams. Will not suprise me if Zona kills Tex.
