Who won the pac-10 conference championship? oh wait, there wasn't one. Maybe if USC had to beat a team of K-state or georgia's caliber to end the season we wouldnt be having this discussion. Or at the very least they would have a better argument. And they would have a better strehgth of schedule. The sooners should be penalized because their conference has a championship game?

Those who say that somehow Oklahoma wasnt the best team in the big 12 this year didnt watch any college football. Oklahoma was by far the better team. K-state was not the second best team in the conf this year, Texas was 7-1. So please spare us the "Oklahoma wasnt the best team in its own conference argument."

To all the trojan backers. All you had to is beat California. You needed a 4th quarter FG to get the game to OT and despite 3 OT's you still werent able to finish off cal. Again, i am not saying USC isnt a great football team. They are. But with 3 great teams, 1 of them had to be on the outside looking in. I would be making similar arguments to sooner fans if the sooners didnt make it in.

All things being equal is does matter when you lose and how you are playing at the end.

I want to see the 2 best teams NOW! Not the best teams in SEpt, Oct, or Nov.

No way OU deserves to be in the NCG after getting bitch slapped by 4 tds to a team that lost to Marshall at home.

USC and LSU finished the season strong and deserve to meet for it all.

KST woodsheding of OU was no fluke. LSU is much deeper and talented and will do the same.

Actually, as it turns out OU didnt have to beat K-state.

You should be so proud. GO check out the Big XII out of conference schedule as a whole. Talk about not playing anyone.

oh yeah. check out that tough pac-10. arizona? Oregon st? Oregon? cal? ucla? Washington?

Their are 3 teams in the big 12 in the top 12- kstate, ok and texas. And have 5 teams ranked in the top 25 (ok state and nebraksa). The pac 10 has just washington st and usc ranked in the top 25.

I don't think USC fans want to get into a conference comparison.

By the way i am penn st fan and not a fan of oklahoma.

I said look at the teams that the BIG XII plays out of conference. They all play patsy's. Thus artificially inflating there won-loss record. Hence it gives teams like Texas and OU a better SOS. That's all i'm saying.

I am not 100 percent sure how the BCS works, however, i dont see how a team can get a BETTER Strength of sched by beating bad teams. The SOS only improves when you beat good teams and not bad teams. For example:

if you look at LSU's nonconference sched (not 1 bowl team):

LA- Monroe (1 win this year)
Arizona
Western illinois
La tech
La Middle School
La Kindergarten

Or if you look at USC's non-conf sched (2 bowl teams):
Auburn (bowl team)
ND
Hawaii (bowl team)
BYU

And sooners non-conf sched (3 bowl teams):
N texas (bowl team)
Alabama
Fresno st (bowl team)
UCLA- pac 10 team (bowl team)

I wont try to convince you that OU's SOS out of conference is GREAT, but it is at least as good as the other 2 teams in the top 3.

Gary, think about what you just said
All USC had to do is beat CAL.

At least Oklahoma's loss was to a top 10 team
and 2 of k-states losses their QB was hurt. and the other was to texas. I wouldnt say ALL they had to do was beat K-State.

And 2 of there wins were against McNeese St. and Troy ST. To think they say the Pac-10 doesn't play anyone. In fact the only one in the Big XII with any guts is Colorado. Look at the out of conference schedule for the Big XII.

3 of the 4 teams OU played are in bowl games and the 4th is Alabama and they played at Alabama and could not go to a bowl regardless; if you play in the Big XII; who do you think someone should freakin play you idiot go out and schedule Florida, Miami, FSU; 1st of all most of those teams dont want to play each other because their conf schedules are too hard and yea look at CU and what happened to them last year. Gary/Dipwad who is your team and who did they play. If you go undefeated and play in a tough conference no one cares who you play non conference the way it effects you is in the BCS because your SOS is hurt. Anyways the schedules are made 5 years in advance; your argument is weak and by keep bringing it up you make yourself look like a moron

Are we a little sensitive? Don't you have a game against North Texas to go play? Is there really a need to call me a dipwad? And what is a dipwad? Around these parts we don't use words like that and we don't marry our sisters!

funny thing is that people keep saying how weak USC schedule is and Auburn was one of those teams.

Does anybody remember that Auburn was 4 point favorites over USC? and they got shut out at home !

and how the hell does Auburn go to any bowl ? And they got Auburn 3 points over Whisky December 31st.

THAT IS A GIFT-- someone is smoking that glass dick in Vegas.

Whisky 27 Auburn 19

What's the purpose of being a condescending D**K? Does it make you feel better about yourself? I beleive SMU is a traditional out of conference opponent for the Big XII, along with Troy St.

If you go undefeated and play in a tough conference no one cares who you play non conference the way it effects you is in the BCS because your SOS is hurt.

Tough conference? Would that be the one with Baylor/Kansas/iowa st./texas A&M Brutal schedule. I thought I knew who were but now i'm positive. Your the guy arn't you? As for intelligent posts. Perhaps you should look in the mirror. I'm not the one calling people idiots and dipwads just because they have a difference of opinion.

Does anyone remeber that about 90% of this board was all over Auburn. Afterall, USC came from the weak west. And we all no only crap football is played on the west coast.
