the tigers effort on sat was dreadful as they turned the ball over 7 times  the tigers lost their leading rusher for the year the sat before against cinncy. we have no good rec as our best 2 are also out for the year w/inj.

however, the tigers are goin to new orleans with a 8 win season, and i will be there as i made my hotel res last week. got a great rate off the intranet for the hilton superdome. looking forwrd to the 1st bowl game in 30 yrs. if any of fellas are gonna make the trip, a want to get a drink before the game let me know.

the tigers will not be at full strength and i do not know much about nt (except for the game on espn last week)., but am happy to be able to go.

I'll be down there, but I'll be on the other side of you. This will be the third year in row that I'll be going to the new orleans bowl. The best places to party is the bourbon st. blues club and Razzoo's. Our Fraternity is staying at the Royal sonesta.

Gentlemen,

Enjoy your stay in the Big Easy. Have lunch @ Mother's on Poydras and Uglesich's on Barrone during your stay. Acme Oyster house off Bourbon is also a must stop. Some good local music that week includes, but is not limited to: Papa Grows Funk @ Maple Leaf on the 15th and Vidacovich, Porter and Yamaguchi @ Tipitina's on the 18th.

thanks guys. texas, hope you enjoy your trip, again.:) this should turn out to be a good game providing my team doesn't get nervous. 1st bowl in 30 yrs:eek: gl, i definetely want my team to win, but i am really looking forward to the trip.

thanks cie for your reccomendations for lunch. do you suggest any dishes ? i love eating cajun. i worked at owen brennan's in memphis for 3yrs. the res paid for the name, and they sent a chef or two to help with the dishes. if you ever come to mtown drop me a line and i 'll see you there for a drink.

Glad they are going to NO, but I'm on North Tex and hope they bury the toothless tigers. Please believe this is not personal, just want my money back at their expense:mad:

thanks guys, ctown- in the future please ask my opinion before wagering on memphis. i do not cap like some of the experts on this site. i depend on the advice of others frequently( you are included in that group) i take as much info as possible then i pick2-3 games and see how it works out. sorry, about your losses, but if you would have asked for help i would have given it on memphis. the tigers lost their best rusher 2 weeks ago and their qb has great stats but he throws several picks. this past week mem had 450 yds of off to less than 300 and lost. the 7 to's cost the game. gl. besides, nothing personal, but it is all about the $$. i bet on the broncos this past week -3 !!

ctown, do not know enough about NT to make an educated dec. sorry.:( no is winprime's hometown and he played great there against tulane. however, memphis is without their leading rusher - he was hurt 2 weeks ago. sadly we do not have the depth behind him. memphis lost the game a week ago by 5, after 7 turnovers. again lean to someone who knows north texas better than me. i know they have a great rb and they have been there before. memphis plays an agressive stle of off and can move the ball. we are light in receivers due to injury. our leading rec from last year is out. having said that, the memphis def is pretty good and blitzes a little bit. in theh end, i just do not know enough about nt. wimprine is the key as he must stop throwing the ball to the wrong team. in the loss to s fla. memphis outgained them by 200 yds.

Whatever happens have a great time and be safe in No with all those wild women.

Elvis,I know your from Memphis. My favorite movie you made was "Fun in Alcapuco".My first love was Ursula Andress.
"Love me Tender" was pretty good.I know Sybil Shepard is from Memphis. So was Larry Finch and kenon.[saw them both play vs North Texas in the old Mizzou valley]
But we have so many famos people that went to North Texas.Just when I was there from 69' to 73'.
Peter Weller[Robo Cop]was in 2 of my classes.Lou Marino of the Bluers Brothers,Phyliss George and Shirly Cothram,Miss America's of 1970 and 1972.Joe Greene just left but 9 football players that played in the NFL.Don Henley of the Eagles who was in a group called Shiloh.Saw them play abouy 3 or 4 times. Two yrs later he is the lead singer of the Eagles.Tex Watson who was Charles Manson's henchmen who killed Sharon Tate
Pat Boone,Nora Jones,Larry McMurty,Joe Don Baker{Walking Tall] Bill Moyers,Mark Cuban of Dallas Mavs[before my times],and of course "box and one" and his wife "mrs.box" who he met dribbling a basketball in front of a dorm imatating Pistol Pete.
Elvis the bet is on...I'm ready ......
cowtown..I'll capp it this weekend...
I know memphis is hurting but after watching North Texas play New Mex St I would stack 8 players in the box and stop Cobb.Because NT couldn't pass the ball vs a HS team from Memphis.
But never the less my school will soundly defeat Memphis. And if you think I'm scared of Calipari and your b-ball team I'm not....either

I know Calipari very well.Worked summer camps with him..See you in a couple of days,Elvis

box and 1, one team in hs played one on me. one of the few highlights of my hs career.:)

however, on a sad note, larry finch spends most of his time in a wheel chair now as he had a stroke a few years ago. if i meet you in no i will give the whole story. it is sad. larry keenan is still standing tall and i don't how he is, but he looks just fine. c-yah.
