Nice write-up and you brought up some great points. I agree with you, USC will outcoach Michigan in the 2h. Carroll/Chow make amazing 2h adjustments.

The health of the USC LB's and other injuries is preventing me from placing my bet now. I want to make sure everything is ok and your right, without good LB's it does not matter too much how well your DL plays. If USC suffers 1 injury in practice to a LB, there will be a walk on starting at LB against MIchigan.

Your also right in that Michigan should blitz USC. If they blitz USC will burn them but also you have chance to mess up the offense rhythm. Chow will come out attacking, maybe 8 out of the first 10 plays will be passing downs. Lienart is not mobile so I am not sure why teams have such hard time getting to him. I think it might be the 3step drop passes and USC great OL. But if i was Michigan i would all out blitz and who cares if USC burns you for a TD. Cuz if you play back USC will just drive down the field.

Once again, great write-up and I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for the props Scott....Michigan's best defensive performance was against Purdue and all they did was throw the kitchen sink at Orton. Now I'm not saying Purdue's offence is like USC's but like you said...disrupting their offensive rhythm is vital...and if Leinhart isn't very mobile...I think they have to try that.

I'm sure we will talk more in the upcoming 3 weeks, along with CWood and others.

If USC is already starting to count their number 1 votes, they better get focused in a hurry. All this USC national champ talk by the media and public has to be a great motivator for Michigan. I wouldn't be shocked to see Michigan win outright.

Update on Avant, latest word is that he will be 100% by the time the team starts practicing in LA prior to Christmas. For those who haven't had a chance to see him play this year, he is a stud. No word on Markus Curry, and we won't hear anything until the team leaves. Even if he makes the trip, there's no guarantee he'll play.

Anyone else think Perry might be just a little more motivated after that 4th place finish in NY? ;)

FYI, based on Lloyd's tone is his presser yesterday, all indications are that starting corner Markus Curry will play in the Rose Bowl.

Also, UM will again travel prior to Christmas and spend the holiday in LA. Prior to the 1998 Rose Bowl, the team traveled after Christmas and had limited preparation time at the bowl site. FWIW, since the new practice was adopted, UM is 5-1 SU in bowl games.
