So Cal
You make a valid point regarding Oklahoma, but don't try to make anyone think that LSU played a difficult schedule. They played teams that were not good enough to even be considered cupcakes.

If you are going to make comments, atleast research them first. They beat more ranked teams then Oklahoma & USC. This is a fact & there is nothing to debate. LSU played better teams then these two schools did.

Remember, prior to the start of the season, USC schedule looked a lot stronger than both OU and LSU. Especially LSU. If Hawaii or ND would have won their last games of the year USC SOS would have been ahead of LSU. Also if WSU did not lose their last game to UW (and started frosh QB cuz Kegal was hurt) USC SOS would have been ahead of LSU. SO it took a lot of help for LSU SOS to outdue USC. Remember, LSU essentially had 5 byes because of the horrible OOC teams they played. It doesn't matter anyways, the BCS sucks and OU, LSU, and USC are all playing for a split NC.
Although if I had to choose, I would rather be ranked #1 in both polls.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

If, if, if, if....every team could say 'if' this or that happened.

I'm also sure if USC were first in the BCS, and not in the polls you would say that you would rather be first in the BCS.

Kegel started the Washington game and played into the second quarter. He exactly lighting things up while he was in there..12 passes, 2INT's.

WSU lost because of FROSH QB. He could not step up and make plays when needed. I watched that whole game because I knew how important it was for USC. UW beat WSU on last minute drive. Of course many teams can say if, if, if, but i would say USC has a lot more IF's. What if USC did not fumble the ball on the goaline in 2nd Overtime? BUNCH OF IF's.

Of course I would rather be #1 in both human polls than BCS. LSU and OU will be NC because of computers and USC will be NC because "humans" voted them. WHich one would you rather be? Easy choice for me. USC only loses out on the crystal ball (which is really sweet) but the AP trophy is just as nice. USC has a few of those in Heritage Hall. In addition, USC gets a ROSE BOWL trophy as well, and USC has many of those to add too. Lastly, the ROSE BOWL is the best bowl game so USC came out ok (even though USC rather be playing in SUGAR because of the freaking BCS), but playing a great tradition school like Michigan who happens to be a great team this year as well is very cool. Remember, USC was not #1 in both polls before the final BCS, so the team needed to play in SUGAR, but now that USC is "clearly" #1 in both polls, USC is very happy with ROSE BOWL. USC team is pumped and so am I. USC has had many memorable games against Michigan in the Rose Bowl. It is a classic filled with rich tradition. What is the OU vs LSU matchup? Cannot say the same.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr Hockey- It didn't take much research to see that LSU played the mighty UL Monroe team that sent shivers down the spine of all their opponents. Then they played the Pac 10 doormat Arizona. We also find long-time powerhouse Western Illinois on the LSU schedule. Let's not forget that game against perennial Top 25 team Louisiana Tech. Most of the assumptions about the difficulty of their schedule revolve around the fact that their conference is considered so powerful. In addition, when USC scheduled Auburn and Notre Dame, I believe these two teams in a normal year would be considered just a tad tougher than UL Monroe, Western Illinois and LaTech. And I suppose you agree with the computer that had Miami, Ohio ahead of USC?
The bias against the West Coast teams continues to rear its ugly head. Take the Heisman. No one from the West had won the Heisman since 1982 when Palmer won it last year.Only 3 West Coast players - Elway, Peete, and Faulk were the only ones that came as close as second. There is not one player west of the Rockies nominated this year - funny, when the #1 team in the media and coach's poll plays in LA. As one columnist mentioned, at least Pete Carroll won an award this week. And that must have been an accomplishment going 11-1 when it was Pitt, Michigan, and Oklahoma had all the best players.
Of course, we can end all the arguments by admitting one simple fact. The BCS system is all about making money through the bowl games - it has very little to do with crowning a legitimate national champion. Both Oklahoma and LSU may well be good enough to topple USC - and had USC beaten out either of the above teams for the BSC championship they too would have a good case. I don't see a whole lot of separation between the 3 of them, and perhaps Michigan, too. Bashing USC is fun, but suggesting they are imposters is assinine.
