Here come the bashers. They always come out at night. Bobby has a way of attracting the newer ones. He takes them under his wing and teachs them proper bashing procedures.

Bashing 101--he teaches it I think........You can always go to Bashing University if you have less than 200 or so posts.....then again there are what the Worm likes to call CHRONIC BASHERS and they are people with over a thousand posts and either can not cap for themselves and follow blindly-or are people who just sit and wait for you to lose on a big play and then rip you for it.....

Defense

Atlanta Falcons
Starting nose tackle Ed Jasper and starting left cornerback
Juran Bolden did not practice and will not play this Sunday.

Here comes Ellis Johnson and Big Play Ray Buchanan as replacements. Buchanan has a foundation for children in Atlanta that he contributes to. The Foundations name is Big Play Ray Foundation for ............. He likes that name I guess.

Needless to say the last big play that Big Play Ray was involved in came out of a lottery ticket.

The Falcons have a rookie defensive lineman Demetrin Veal is likely to be active for just the fourth game this season. I don't think he has ever seen anything like E James will look like coming up the middle. Being a rookie like he is.

That leaves former starting left cornerback Tyrone Williams or
the newcomer cornerback Derek Ross who came off waivers and was claimed by the Falcons. The Big Tuna in Dallas let this guy go because of attitude problems. This guy should make a nice addition to the Falcons half time encouragement in the locker room.

Coach Phillips is in a difficult spot here. Dan Reeves had Wade Phillips do all the dirty work with dicipline on defense as he was the man. He was sending starters to the bench. Phillips been all over these guys and has fined and suspended alot of the ones who will have to play big for him in Indianapolis. I can see that happening like when my Aunt Tillie hit a home run for the
NY Yankees.

Indianapolis Colts
"Perhaps the part of the team that Dungy has stabilized most is the defense. Importing the Cover-2 defense that he coached with the Buccaneers, Dungy has made the Colts defense at least competitve. The Colts rank 12th in yards allowed and 19th in points allowed.

It doesn't exactly recall the vicious Buccaneers that Dungy created in Tampa Bay, but consider that in 2001, the year before Dungy came to Indianapolis, the team ranked 29th in yards and last in points."
....................................................................................

Both teams defenses are a risk in this game. I don't even have
to list how horrible the Falcons have played on defense. Last in this and last in that, worst in NFL, and rat a tat a tat !

The Colts are at home playing for a chance to go to the
Super Bowl. Dungy will have them ready to play we can
count on that much.

Understanding the motivations of each team's defense
is Key #2. It could mean the differance between losing and
money in the bank.

Scott,

I'll be pulling for you whichever way you go as I won't be a player on this game. Very curious now as to your other keys though.

Good Luck.. Hope you kick ass... Please exercise good judgment here.
The Falcons finally out-yarded an opponent significantly last week.
The "No Michael Vick Party " is over for The Falcon Players and excuses will be gone just as Reeves was.

By the way, Tony Dungy is now letting it be known that he thinks he has been getting snookered by opposing teams that have been faking injuries on the field to slow down his hurry-up offense.

I'll coat-tail ya for a small one here since your record has been so good with Falcon games!

:D

Scott, I love you man. I know that you're sticking to your pick. "I will not be discouraged or distracted from the winning play. ". But com'on. Use a little common sense. You can't put the house on one bet. If your TITFD play goes sour, you won't be around for the playoffs.

KEY #3

Intangibles

Atlanta Falcons

Head Coach change with only a week to prepare.
RB Duckett - Man this guy is a head case.
RB Dunn - Best receiver/runner out of backfield out for the season.
Pressure to win is off.
Big Play Ray - Steps in for Juran Bolden to cover Harrison.
Jasper - Starting defensive nose tackle replaced by rookie.
Finnerman - Out with bruised knee.
Wade Phillips game plan and half time adjustments/lol
Offensive line protects Vick by screaming watch out Mike !

Indianapolis Colts

9 of 13 Colts games decided by 7 points or less.
Manning only QB in NFL history with 3,000 yds passing in each
of his first six NFL seasons.
Dungy- game plan ability and adjustments
Can clinch Div by winning next 2 of 3
Offensive line provides safe pocket for Manning.
Manning capable of running for first down in a tight spot.
E James RB 6-0 214 8/1/78 5 Miami (FL) running hard looking up to speed.
" E James' first, a 2-yarder, was sheer power. He took a rare pitch to the right from Manning, then cut up field into heavy traffic. He met and ran through linebacker Keith Bulluck at the 3, shrugged off contact by free safety Lance Schulters just short of the goal line and dove into the end zone with linebacker Peter Sirmon clinging to his feet.

James' 5-yarder at the end of the third quarter was just as effective, but more conventional. He followed the lead of left guard Rick DeMulling, who pulled and pulverized Sirmon, into the end zone.
Coach Tony Dungy was especially impressed with James' first TD against the Titans.
"Keith Bulluck's right there in the hole and, 'Hey, I've got to get it in,' and he got it in for us," said Dungy. "He's done that the last five weeks or so.

................................................................

The Key #3 of Intangibles will have a important role to play in this wager.

KEY #4

Coaching

Indianapolis Colts
Dungy's contract averages $2.6 million per season and includes incentives that would reward him for leading the Colts to the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl. It makes him one of the league's highest-paid head coaches. "You have to pay for greatness," the owner said when signing Dungy.

Dungy brings his experience and defensive expertise.
Dungy is considered one of the NFL's classiest individuals, a man of poise, compassion and commitment on and off the field.

"I've always viewed the head coach and the quarterback to be the cornerstones of a franchise," said Irsay. "To know that Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy are going to represent the horseshoe for the next decade is very exciting."

Atlanta Falcons
Phillips is not going to have a job next year with the Falcons. He may be out of coaching following this season. Phillips will yield defensive coordinator responsibilities to defensive backs coach Emmitt Thomas, who has seven years experience as a coordinator with three different teams. Phillips will also help out on the offensive side. Offensive coordinator Pete Mangurian will take over for Reeves as the offensive playcaller.
..............................................................................

OK we are getting down to cases now. Dan Reeves told Blank to let him know if he were going to be replaced. Blank told him he was making a change year end. Reeves quits. Reeves did not do this out of concern for the team. He did not quit out of caring for 3 more victorys for the Falcons. He did not do this to help the remaining coachs get future jobs. He did it because of pride.
If you think about it. Remember back when a job that you had suddenly lost a manager. For a time you are shocked wondering what happened. Then you get the details and the company struggles along in the transition period. Thats where the Falcons are now. Turmoil. The game plan goes out the window. Egos become involved. Players start thinking about who the next coach will be and if they will be employed. Manguarian calling the plays into Vick. Vick may overrule him and call what he wants.

UH OH

Coaching comes into play when critical game decisions must be made that will affect the outcome of the game. Time management gives points. Dungy on one side intends to play the Falcons like the Tampa Bay Bucs play them. Vick is contained by the Defensive Ends and not allowed to run into the lanes. Keep Vick off the field by maintaining time possession.

"The Colts did that during a nearly 15-minute stretch in which they ran 34 straight offensive plays. "

Key #4 Coaching will make this a winning play.
