So the Braves come into Malibu red hot after rolling by Loyola Chi and Butler by 4... coming to a 80 degree Malibu CAlifornia may be a distraction but once on the court Bradley should have no problems going against a degegted Waves team that just lost a 2OT heartbreaker at Irvine. This has not been a good start to the season for Pepperdine. They have tested themselves with a tough schedule and the result is a 3-6 start s/u. It wont get easier for PU as the Braves are the underrated team in the MVC. The Braves have served notice to the rest of the country that they belong and I will witness it first hand at the fieldhouse in Malibu tommorow afternoon. PLAY BRADLEY BIG
Creighton -18.5 over ARK LR
Little Rock got their first win of the year on the road last game at IPFW and have the confidence to succed. . Zachary from little rock can be erratic and he throws up plenty of bad shots but he makes a lot of them but Creighton has a few nice wins back to back in Nebraska and Fresno.. this one should be a cake walk for the undefeated blue jays who hope to blow the trojans out of the gym and stay perfect in the post kyle korver era
STAN PK OVER GONZAGA 5:30 Pacific ch 610 directv (college sportstv channel)
The Pete Newell Classic's first matchup is a gem. The Zags have been spectacluar once again as have Stanford. Stanford is so so solid and are playing to their peak ability which doesnt bode well for later in the year butright now thats the facts and thats why they are winning. Stan will actually improve once they get a full deck of cards to play with. I like Stanford playing near home here and it should be very entertaining.. PLAY STAN PK
CAL +160 over St Joes ( follows Stan-Gonz on CSTV. CH 610)
Jameer Nelson and co... come to Oakland to take on the underachieving Cal golden bears.. I like Cal to win this game outright, mostly becasue they need to win more than StJoes does. Cal cant afford to lose this game, especially after showing signs of life of late. This season has been a nightmare for Cal to start with losses to the Mustangs of Cal Poly and a few others. Last years star Amit Tamir was horrible to start the year but he and Brit Richard Midgley have found a way to play with Leon Powe the sensational freshman Cal has. Cal has the horses to turn their season around and a win over a top 15 team in the country is the medicine that the Bears need to propell them into pac-10 play (actually have columbia first than pac-10 play)
As for St Joes.. they sur have a lot of talent.. but they havent played a true test on the road yet. Old Dominian almost beat them and thats been the biggest test for StJoes so far although big wins over penn and boston on the road are nice. Not to mention a 11pm start in the heads of StJoes in this game.. i love Cal here +160 or take the 5
NAU -7.5 over USD
NAU certainly has a lot of losses but none of them you can really fault them for.. the worst a 2 point loss at riverside in which the highlanders were red hot... but NAU is coming off a nice win over UNLV last time out and the momentum is building in Flagstaff for a run at the bigsky title. USD is no where near the team that almost beat Stanford in the ncaas last year, in fact they are 2-7 this year. USD best game on the road this year was a 20 point loss at Santa Barbara. This SanDiego team is bad.. and I think this may be a bigger play than anything I have made in a long time. PLAY THE JACKS -7.5 BIGGGGGGGGGGGG
