Canadian friends, I have a question

Why do so many of you countrymen boo the United States national anthem when sung at hockey games? I have never once heard the Canadian anthem booed at a game in the United States, but I think booing in Canada is a rather common practice. The recent example I am referring to was in Montreal, so is that to just be expected there with so many French? My buddy that travels with the Predators also tells me that the Canadians also talk and otherwise disrespect their own anthem and even boo it if sung in English sometimes.

Is the booing strictly because of the recent happenings in the Middle East, or has this always happened? Thanks.

I've never heard US Anthem booed except in Quebec.........

and umm......by the way I've heard the Canadian National Anthem booed in Philly more then once.......also heard Canadian Athem booed on Long Island (Islanders game).....it got so bad on Long Island that the Canadian players on the Islanders actually did a PSA telling the NYI morons that 70% of the Islanders were in fact Canadian


then of course there's the countless examples of the Canadian Athem words getting messed up.........that has happened about a million times :nono:

Agree with you Kickserv thats theres Canada and then theres Quebec. I do remember the booing on both sides of the border when the Gulf War started. Most Americans would screw up their own anthem as well.

I think some of you have blink.... I heard the US anthem boos in Toronto or in Ottawa several times so there is nothing there to compare because the game are played in Montreal or wherever...

There will always be people who boos for any reasons and there is nothing political there....:shrug: Just stupid people who needs to show off... By the way for those who thinks there is more people who boos in Montreal because it's French its an absurb statement! Have you ever been in a game there? More than 60% of the crowd is English so don't start the language comment here!!!!:nono:
