Thanks for link. This guy is suppose to be a stud and he grew up an OSU fan but Carroll is working his magic on him. I don't know why he is considering USC because USC has at least 4 other WR's his age or year older that are just as good if not better than him. Also add Mike Williams who will be at USC 1 or 2 more years. He says he wants a USC degree and staying all 4 years.

Rumor is Davis already gave Carroll a verbal and said he is coming to USC. Remember, the best athletes year in and year out in Ohio almost always go to Ohio St. He did give Carroll a verbal, but he does not want to go public because of the pressure he would recieve from the state of Ohio. He was quoted in paper saying Ohio St. and USC are dead even. His verbal to Carroll is not binding and prob. could change because rule #1 is kids don't usually leave their state.

USC also is going after GINN hard, but he will be a lot tougher to get out of Ohio. I am 75% sure Davis is coming to USC but only 30% sure about Ginn. USC already is getting the #1 and #2 WR's from CA this year and USC got the #1 WR in the nation last year Whitney Lewis and the #2 WR from CA Steve Smith (who is playing). USC is simply LOADED!

Scott, don't be so sure about the WR's this year. A little birdy tells me that Colvin is in Gutierrez's back pocket and will be coming to A2. Also, Davis/Ginn will be Buckeyes.

Mike Williams all four years, huh. I believe that when I see it.

I have been told Colvin is coming to USC, but yes Michigan is right there. A Michigan win over USC will help with Colvin. I think Michigan was Colvins leader/favorite as a child. Remember, its tough taking out of state kids. USC having that same problem with the 2 Ohio kids.

Davis has verballed to Carroll, but will he stick with it? OSU might change his mind last minute.

Jarret, the #1 WR from NY, was going to come to USC and was all excited, long time Trojan, all of a sudden now favors Virginia, and prob. not coming to USC. Carroll said this guy was just like Mike Williams out of high school. I think it is because USC already has WR commits from top dogs and he does not want to compete (i do not blame him).

Wasn't that a nice story about Justin Fargas last year? The kid should have stayed home and he wished he had.

That Fargas story was great last year. I couldn't have been happier for him. UM was never the right spot for him, was never big enough while in A2 to take the beating that a TB takes in the B10. Plus, coming off that injury and having Train in front of him was a real bad situation. When he moved to safety (at his request) he had two juniors (Drake/June) entrenched in front of him there, and UM's defensive system is not something you can pick up in one fall.

On Colvin, I hear he is VERY close to committing to UM but that his guardian (both his parents have passed away) wants him to go to SC and that is holding him back. Both UM and SC have lots of young studs at WR, so the depth chart shouldn't be an issue. Will be another interesting SC/UM recruiting battle for sure.

Word around USC is that Pete Carroll already has his recruiting class locked up. I don't know if I believe it but thats what people are saying. If its true, that would be amazing. Why is it amazing?

To put this recruiting class in proper perspective. There are only 34 players in the entire country rated as 5 star caliber. USC will end up with EIGHT! Do the math........... 24%. That's 1/4 of ALL 5 star players in the nation to ONE school, USC baby!

The Pete Carroll Selection show keeps rollin' on!

These guys have gone public:

-Scott Ware DB (#2 JC football player in nation)
-Ryan Powdrell LB (#1 JC LB in the nation, top 10 overall player in nation)
-Taitusi Lutui OL (#1 overall JC football player in nation)
-Jeff Byers OL (#1 overall athlete in the nation out of high school)

These guys are considered strong leans aka silent commits:

-Keith Rivers LB
-Jeff Schwieger DE
-Thomas Herring OL/DE

That gets USC to seven and one of these guys would give USC eight:

-Cameron Colvin WR between USC and Wolverines, prob. USC
-Fred Davis WR sorta a long shot, probably Ohio State but he did give Carroll a verbal.
-Ted Ginn DB distant long shot, probably Ohio State

With some luck, USC could end up with max. of 10 5-star players. USC already has 7 wrapped up, so very good chance USC ends with at least 8. This is pretty scary because USC had the #1 recruiting class last year, and don't forget, USC coaches develop/use this talent!

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!

I'm assuming your using TheInsiders as your source since you cite Byers as the #1 overall player. I wouldn't list him as the top talent in the land, I think Peterson is, but I've seen video of Byers and he is probably the best lineman I have ever seen on tape. Future All-American without a doubt barring injury.

There is a sportsbook out there that has odds on who will win the best recruiting class but I forget which one it was. I think USC, having the top talent per commit, will again take the crown for the best class. I think getting 8 top blues is a stretch but when all is said and done I think USC winds up with Schweiger, Colvin and possibly Herring. Rivers would be huge but I think he stays home and becomes a Gator.

I hope to make it down to the US Army All-American Bowl this year in San Antonio. I'll let you know what I see in some of SC's prospects. Texas is hoping to pull the stud QB Xavier Lee out of Florida so I'll have my eyes on him.

USC is bringing in exceptional talent, they'll soon have 2-deep All-Americans at every postion...scary. The only downside to that is we would have to listen to your hurrahs for a few more years. :D

Funny post, and yes, i would love your opinion on the USC recruits. As for Rivers, he did verbal in front of coaches and players on his recruiting visit. He did it at dinner. The only player not to verbal on that trip was GINN. Rivers lists USC and FL as top 2 but he should be at USC. If he chooses FL it will be a big blow to USC, this guy is a STUD.

I would take BYERS over anybody because I think games are won in the trenches and USC loses 3 senior OL.

Keep me updated, i like to read this stuff. I know all the players names and stuff about USC recruits, but i never seen any of them play. I just go by what people tell me.

Happy Holidays and good luck this Bowl Season. I think USC -6.5 will be my biggest bet this bowl season. (no its not just because I am USC fan). Have not put the bet in yet because waiting to make sure USC will be healthy or no injuries happen. BTW, #1 LB for USC GROOTEGOOD is not playing in Rose Bowl. SLIM CHANCE. That hurts.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

I know for a fact that Ginn Jr is NOT leaving the state of Ohio to play football. He will be attending Ohio State on what is believed to be a track scholarship and will play football as a walk-on. Not 100% sure on the following item but I believe he is either the defending 100meter sprint champion in the country for high school athletes OR Top 3 returnee. I am pretty sure he won it last year as a junior. His family took custody of a kid from Massilon who is an All-State football player who has commited to Ohio State as a junior. He played this past season at Cleveland Glenville with Ginn Jr. He is projected to start in the secondary next year for the Buckeyes.
