Big Al Mcmordie

Game: Michigan St. at Nebraska Dec 29 2003 9:00PM

Prediction: Nebraska

Reason: Nebraska is making its 35 straight post-season appearance, which is an NCAA record. And the Cornhuskers will be coached by Bo Pelini, who is in his 1st season as defensive co-ordinator, after 9 years in the NFL. This game will be Pelini's audition for the head coaching job and, if he doesn't get that position, I wouldn't be surprised if he is hired by Oklahoma to take over for their departing defensive co-ordinator Mike Stoops, who will be Arizona's head coach next season. This Bowl game is a clash of offensive styles. Michigan State loves to pass the ball with QB Jeff Smoker, while Nebraska wants to run, run, run. The Cornhuskers are 9th in the nation in rushing, but only Air Force and Rice threw for less yards. Nebraska also has a very good pass defense, as they allowed just 206 passing yards per game, and 5.4 yards per pass attempt. The Spartans are just 4-12 ATS vs. good passing defenses that allow 5.75 yards or less per pass attempt, and Michigan State is 0-4 straight-up vs. Nebraska, including a 55-14 blowout loss in 1996.

Virginia Tech likes to run the football, while California likes to air it out. Cal (7-6) has a terrific coach in second-year man Jeff Tedford. This offense is wide-open, averaging 31 points and 254 yards passing pg. QB Aaron Rodgers and Reggie Robertson have combined for 26 TDs and only 8 INTs. RB Adimchinobe Echemandu (1,161 yards, 5.2 yards per carry) is the best running back in the country whose name you can?t pronounce, while WR Geoff McArthur caught 85 passes for 1,504 yards. This is the farthest east that Cal will have traveled this season, but they went 3-4 SU on the road outscoring opponents by a 28-25 average. And remember: Cal is the only team to beat No.1 USC this season (34-31 in OT). Virginia Tech (8-4) likes to run the ball behind QB Bryan Randall and RB Kevin Jones. The Hokies average 34 points and 214 yards rushing per game. One has to wonder if they are even interested in playing in a bowl. V-Tech has lost 3 of 4 games, which all happened after their thrilling 31-7 rout of Miami. They lost to Boston College and Virginia and beat Temple 24-23 as a 25-point favorite! After missing out on the postseason a year ago, California takes advantage of an overrated Hokie squad.

THE DOG WINS

While Urban Meyer left for Utah, Gegg Brandon took over at BG and led the Falcons to a 10-3 season! The Falcons lost only to Miami-Ohio (twice) and in Columbus to Ohio St 24-17 (as 12.5-point dogs). Over the last three seasons, BG has been the ENVY of every mid-major school, as the Falcons are 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS vs BCS schools! Northwestern finished just 6-6 with FIVE of its losses coming by 20 points or more. While BG features Josh Harris at QB (4th in the nation in total offense while throwing for 3427 yards with 24 TDs & 10 INTs and 762 yards rushing and 12 TDs!), NW has Brett Basanez (54% / 1858 passing yards / 4 TDs-12 INTs). NW has been 'crushed' in its three bowl appearances since 1995 (combined score of 155-77) while BG makes jits first bowl appearance since 1992. The Falcons were 'worried' that they would lose out to Northern Illinois for this bowl bid after their poor performance in the MAC Title game vs Miami and won't miss an opportunity to win again vs a BCS opponent! BG's ofensive balance (204.6 ypg rush / 293.8 ypg pass) is too much for NW (27 of the team's 31 offensive TDs came via the run!) and with the pointspread 'dropping', win and cover rather EASILY! 10* Bowling Green.

Virginia Tech backed into this Bowl game after ending their season on a 2-4 SU run, including a 21-35 loss to Virginia in the final game. That road loss capped a season where Virginia Tech was 0-5 ATS on the road and moved them to 1-5 ATS as favorites following a SU loss. They find both key angles coming into play once again on Friday in the Insight Bowl. California ended the season with a very strong 4-1 SU mark to end their season and we find them at 12-3 ATS as dogs with rest. While Virginia Tech has been known for their defense speed in the past, this California squad actually has a speed advantage, which they showed as they defeated such speed-orientated Pac 10 squads such as USC and managed 28 points against the tough Kansas State defense which help # 1 ranked Oklahoma to just a Touchdown! Take the points with these hungry Bears!

Motor City Bowl
Bowling Green Vs Northwestern
Friday, December 26th

Pat Durr, Northwestern?s crack linebacker, has been a source of inspiration to the Wildcats for his entire career. To get his teammates up for this game, he reminded them of Bowling Green?s 43-42 win over Northwestern at Dyche Stadium
in the 2001 campaign. Apparently, it worked. The Wildcats are practicing with fury. The key to the game is Northwestern?s running attack. The Wildcats have to run the football and they
have to run it well in order to have a chance against the explosive Falcons.

When Northwestern runs for 200 yards or more, the Wildcats are 11-0 against the spread. Northwestern hit the magic number of 200 rushing yards six times this season behind Jason Wright and
Noah Herron. Bowling Green has performed admirably this season except for the two games against Miami Ohio, and
they are a worthy opponent for teams much better than the Wildcats. However, the BeeGees are just 2-22 straight up
away from home against .500 or better opponents, and they can?t possibly be psyched up about this game after losing
the Mid American Conference title game on their home field. In addition, Mid American Conference teams are 6-1 both straight up and against the number in all bowl games since 1998. According to our database, however, the Big Ten Conference has dominated the Mid American Conference, winning 100 of the last
115 games in straight up fashion. Brett Basanez won?t present the same problems for the Bowling Green defense that
Ben Roethlisberger did, but he will present problems nonetheless. If Bowling Green?s players do not have their
mind right for this game, Northwestern can sneak the victory. Back the Wildcats!

Play on Northwestern

John Ryan's Top 50 Rated Play

California Golden Bears vs Virginia Tech Hokies
Top Play
California Golden Bears

This year Ryan went 3-0 ATS in CFB
TOP-50 graded plays

Good Luck!!!

Reason: Game: Virginia Tech vs. California Game Time: 12/26/2003 8:00:00 PM Prediction: California Reason:
Ai simulator Top level play on California. This is a TOP-50 graded play meaning that it ranks within the Top-50
highest graded plays spanning 10 seasons. The record has been quite good for the Top-50 plays and they
have gone 3-0 ATS this year. What it doesn't mean it is that you bet far beyond your means. Results. Results
and more Results are what matters because I invest my dough on these plays. Cal is projected to have an 88%
probability of winning this game straight up. That also means that there is a 12% probability that they will LOSE.
So once again please use common sense. This play is graded as a 3* top level play. I advice my clients to
wager 5* amounts on the Top-50 plays and NO MORE. One thing I can say with a high level of confidence is
that no matter the outcome of this game if you commit yourself to following all of my plays you will make
money over time. So, with the New Year fast approaching make this opportunity one of your New Years
resolution. Cal practiced in full pads on Monday in preparation for Friday's showdown with the Virginia Tech
Hokies. It was the first time the Bears practiced in full pads in six days. The boys from Berkeley did not seem
to skip a beat, however, hustling from drill to drill in search of an edge in the upcoming game. The edge is at
wide receiver and I believe Cal will assault Tech's secondary throughout this game. Supporting this play are a
ton of systems and angles. Here are just a few that MATCH the projections of the Ai simulator. CALIFORNIA is
9-1 ATS (+7.9 Units) in road games when they rush for 150 to 200 yards since 1992. Here is a system. Play on
neutral field dogs in minor bowl games with a winning record on the season has produced a record of 41-17 ATS
since 1997.

1ST HALF NBA ODDSMAKERS MISTAKE GAME OF THE YEAR

CHICAGO SERVICE

Their 1st-Half Oddsmakers Mistake Game of the Year is on the LA Clippers.

They also have top-rated 3,000* sides on Memphis and Phoenix.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOWL ODDSMAKERS MISTAKE GAME OF THE YEAR Bowling Green-Northwestern

BATON ROUGE SERVICE

Their Oddsmakers Mistake College Bowl Game of the Year play is on Northwestern plus the points against Bowling Green.

The like the fact that the Wildcats played in a much tougher conference (Big 10) than the Falcons, and that Northwestern closed the season strong by winning four of its final six games.

They note the Wildcats were 5-1 ATS on the road this year, and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 outside of Evanston over the past two seasons combined.

They also point out the Big 10 was a strong 5-2 ATS in bowl play a year ago, and in a battle of two weak defensive teams, they feel the squad from the better conference (Northwestern) plus the points is the play.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONE-AND-ONLY 25* COLLEGE GAME OF THE YEAR Va Tech - Cal

DAYTON SERVICE

Their One-and-Only 25* College Game of the Year is on California plus the points against Virginia Tech in the Insight.com bowl.

They feel Cal is the team playing with momentum having won four of its last five regular-season games both SU and ATS. On the other hand, Virginia Tech arrives in Phoenix having lost three of its last four on the field, with the lone win coming in overtime against an awful Temple team. And the Hokies' late-season slide cost them a date in a "big" bowl.

They note Va Tech is a one-dimensional offensive team because of its inconsistent play at quarterback all season. And they feel a Cal rushing defense that allowed 132 yards a game (3.6 ypc) will be up to the task of limiting Kevin Jones.

They add that Cal is 8-3-1 ATS on the road during head coach Jeff Tedford's reign, and 8-2-1 ATS in that stretch when getting points like tonight.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHARLOTTE SERVICE 1ST 4* BOWL LOCK Virginia-Pitt

CHARLOTTE SERVICE

Their first 4* Bowl Lock of the Year is on Virginia minus the points against Pittsburgh in the Continental Tire Bowl. They also have a 2* play on the under. They like Virginia in this close contest 27-23.

They like the way the Cavs closed the season with back-to-back wins against Georgia Tech (29-17) and Virginia Tech (35-21). And they feel the Cavs can do some damage offensively in this contest, not only on the arm of quarterback Matt Schaub, but on the ground against a Pittsburgh rushing defense that allowed 184 yards a game, and 4.4 yards per carry to opposing backs.

Although Virginia is playing in this bowl for a second straight year (beating West Virginia last year 48-22), they feel this game means more for the Cavs than Pitt, which cost itself a chance to play in the Orange Bowl by losing to Miami of Florida in its season finale.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HARTFORD SERVICE Va Tech-California Bowling Green-Northwestern BOTH BOWL TOTALS

HARTFORD SERVICE

Their top-rated triple play totals are for California and Virginia Tech to stay under in the Insight.com Bowl with around 53 points being scored, and for Bowling Green-Northwestern to go over in the Motor City Bowl with around 64 points being scored.
