definitely can't get a good read on either of these Jekyll & Hyde teams. Hell Michigan State struggled early with the likes of Rutgers & Western Michigan. Then as season concluded dropped 3 of last 4 (Michigan, Ohio State, and whiskey), before beating up a extremely poor Penn State team. The only games they won convincingly all season were Illinois Indiana & Penn State, 3 programs definitely on the down this season. They started season 7-1, but struggled against above teams as well as Iowa & Minnesota and somehow even lost at home to Louisiana Tech.
Bottom line is can they stop Nebraska running, if they can their diversified attack should put some points on the board. Problem is can they stop Nebraska. Spartans were allowing lots of points when they played Michigan, Ohio State and whiskey at end of season, something like 30 +

as confusing as Michigan State is to figure, Nebraska is worse with all the coaching disaster etc.
this team started strong however against the likes of Utah State & Tory State. They only managed single digits against Big 12 standouts Texas & Kansas State. And in my eyes vary confusing only beat Penn State 18-10. Dam tough game to handicapp, what do you guys say??

I like the points with MSU for a medium size play and a BIG play on the over.....If Colorado can put those type of points on Nebraska then Smoker and crew will light it up! AND its going down for my favor...

You know what, every year Colorado plays Nebraska well. And they play them real well when they play in Boulder, the high altitude allows them to play well at home, I went to school up there for a while and this is really an advantage. This game could go either way tonight. I love the fact that JQpublic is all over the spartans. I like the huskers, they have played MSU before (regular season) and the spartans got crushed 55-14 I believe. It just depends on if MSU or NU brings their A game tonight. Never mind coaching, whoever comes to play will win.

mich st

mich st

struggled stopping the run vs the better clubs this year.....

but,one thing i noticed was that all the teams that ran on them had balanced attacks and threw for over 200 yards to boot(michigan, minny, wisky, ohio st).....mich st had to play run and pass on defense equally...i will say that they couldn`t stop chris perry with a gun.......but,they also had navarre bombing away to braylen edwards....

iowa didn`t pass that well, and so,didn`t do very well offensively....

i think nebraska may have to pass some.......and nebraska`s offense wasn`t exactly a world beater....24 vs kansas` defense?only beat penn st at home 18-10......troy st....utah st.....iowa st....barely escaped colorado, who passed pretty well on them....

i think this will be a tough game....i honestly don`t know how to gauge msu`s defense against an option style running game that they haven`t seen this year.....

i can see msu making mistakes....and they have very little ground game...and may get worn down as the game goes on...

my problem is that i don`t think nebraska`s that good..the defense is...the offense isn`t.....and lord sucks on ice.....

maybe under.....50.......forget the side...

They are? I kind of get the opposite feeling (public on Nebraska).

shamrock,

here is something that i read that may interest you.

mich. st. romped over penn. st. in their last game of the season. this was a revenge game for them.

"teams who won a conference revenge game in their regular season finale & covered the spread by more than 20 points are 5-15 ats in bowl games since 1980"

fwiw, like gw, i am taking the under.

good luck

ar- thanks for the statistic. This game continues to puzzle me somewhat, Pinnacle was holding Nebraska -3.5 and was taxing that hook on Michigan State -114, they finally broke & line stands now at Nebraska -3-105.

Interesting what you say about revenge, one thing continuing to bother me is being on the East Coast I get a pretty good look at Penn State, they were truly horrible. Nebraska at home barely handled them 18-10.

Everyone likes the under, but Michigan State yielded huge points to rank teams at the end of season. Even Ohio State, somewhat in weak offensively scored like 33?

shamrock--

it does seem that many guys on the board are on the under, but 80-90% of services are calling for the over. check mizzou's service thread, and most of those are on the spartans and over. fwiw.

i think

i think

what people are looking at are 2 one dimensional offenses...........that appear to play into the other`s defensive strength.....

that said,i agree with what you said about mich st.....i saw chris perry just grind them into dust......but,they had to keep their defense honest with navarre flinging the ball around to edwards and the other michigan receivers.....ohio st threw for over 200 yds on mich st....wisky threw for 300 something....that could explain the ground games working......i think they gave up almost 270 ypg through the air.....

that shouldn`t be an issue here....

but,who knows.....maybe mich st can`t stop the option.....

to many if`s......not one of my favorite bowl games to wager on.....
