YTD 53-22
Future Bets 4-2

After a two month break I'm back to pick up where I left off. Although I feel some of the best value is in the earlier bowl games there are 5 picks for the remaining schedule:

Oregon +6 - once the books hit at this number I jumped all over it. Most books had it at 5.5 the past two days and I'm not sure why. Looking at the two teams I find it hard to believe Minnesota will run away with this game as is being predicted. Oregon ended the year on a positive beating 3 solid teams in Cal, UCLA and OSU. I'll take the points here as Minnesota had one solid win all year against Wisconsin (37-34) and even then they had to hold on and win

Fla -3.5
Iowa/Fla Under 47.5 -Two programs going in opposite directions at this point. Although they lost to FSU, Leak and Co. have a ton of momentum going into this game and their defense is the only question mark. I see Leak giving the Iowa defense all kinds of trouble and using his feet to do the most damage. Not a high scoring game at all as Iowa will commit to the run and their excellent kicker will probably hit 3 FG's. 24-16 sounds about right.

Purdue +3.5 - More of a bet against Georgia with all of their injuries and suspensions than anything else. Purdue has the best defense in the Big-10 and I'm leaning towards the Under is this game as well. Purdue has not given up more than 16 points in their L4 and GA defense, aside from the ass-kicking @LSU, had been solid all year. Orten and Co. get it done with a rare win for the Big-10 this bowl season.

Tenn -5 - Oh, what might have been... Clausen never lived up to his hype although he has the team playing their best in his 4 years at Tenn. With a 6 game winning streak this is finally the team most people expected to see the past two years. Fulmer and Co. should roll over Clemson is a high scoring game. Line should be 7-8 easy...

Best of luck to all and Happy New Year!

AR182 - I got engaged on Halloween which is why I've been away. Just about all of the college winnings payed for the ring which was what my goal was for this year. Needless to say that I have been busy with wedding planning along with the holiday season. Also, I've generally made the cut-off for college football to be the first week in November. Although I have not been posting I do so check-up on what is going on here. Interesting stuff to say the least...

Best of luck to us both and Happy New Year to you as well!

Kdogg21 - good luck to us all! :D

Monkeynuts - good to be back! I'll pass on the BC/CSU game but the one thing that has jumped out at me that I didn't play was the FSU/Miami game. The Under looks solid to me but I'm not sure if I'll pull the trigger. Neither team is going to score more than 24 and a 23-17 game seems right. Offensively each side has injuries and the lay-off will help the defenses. I expect to see a lot of Jones and Payton on each side and crybaby Winslow to get his fair share over the middle. All these things point to each team eating up the clock...

Might list it as a pick later but for now those are my thoughts...

Good luck!

wox11- Thanks and good luck to you!

Adding:

Tulsa/GT Over 48 - people will start chasing after today's game and the line with the best value is here. I imagine it will move to 50.5-51 by kickoff which when looking at the teams seems right. Between the two teams the L10 games have gone Over (6 for Tulsa and 4 for GT) If Ball was 100% this would easily be over 50. Even with him hurting he will still be able to put plenty of points on the board and this has the look of a shoot-out. Neither team can stop the other's strength. Tulsa gives up 183 yards pg on the ground and GT's secondary is thin and young. Wouldn't be surprised to see over 800 yards of total offense. 31-24 Georgia Tech.
