michigan 2h (pk) (+100) over fairfield

i have high respect for uic. i dont think their debacle vs illinois was indicative of the kind of team they have this year. to me, theyre still the class of the horizon. however, i consider perry watson to be the premier coach in that conference, and with them coming off a far worse loss than uic suffered-- i think the titans defensive intensity will set the tone and they will play the game at their pace. both teams are trying to rebound from losses. but just think watson will demand a much better effort than the one displayed vs kent state the other night. he's a no-bullshit kind of coach and that loss to kent cant be sitting well with him. detroit is already a physical, hard-nosed team. should see a solid effort from them here. uic a poor FT shooting team as well, which should keep them from having any sustained runs. keep in mind that ive been mediocre in hoops the L2 weeks. so maybe uic is the right side here  gl bud

Agree with u gman on Perry Watson...methim while he was coaching HS at Detriot SW...created and ran a premier program class guy who likes his defense.

I do what I do...not because I have to or can...but because it's the right thing to do.

suffocatiing defense from detroit today. watson's boys got after it in a big way. holding a tm to 48 pts on their home court?

any guys down the east coast have an opinion on wilmington and nc state? i know uncw is down a little this year compared to past yrs, but both these teams are so methodical on offense that i cant see this one getting out of hand. nc state sometimes plays to the level of their opposition. anyone have a pro-uncw or pro-nc state view on this one? thanks

hard to play nc state as this kind of favorite.after watching uncw turn the ball over vs unc i would either play state or leave it alone.think sendak is feeling the heat to get more enthusiam in the program.success with amato ,ol roy coming to unc and the fans are realling turning on him.think there is a website call firesendak.com .

leans to fresno state and akron in addition to what is above (ball state). nothing particularly strong. that murray state game is a microcosm of the way things are going for me in hoops lately. staring a 2-0 start right in the face if murray shows up in the 2h. instead, juice out on the early ones. gl man

GMAN,
NCSU ALUM, I will be taking the points myself. I think the beating of UVa by the three pointer will hurt the pack in this game. This game reminds me of the game awhile back against Wisc-Milw where the pack had a hard time and did not cover. Both teams played UNCA and UNCW won 77-38 and NCSU won 71-46. When I was in school and we had Les "Wins" Robinson as coach, UNCW beat us at home.

you might be on to something with sdsu. iowa state has been less than impressive away from home this year. they played some cupcakes early to pad their record. not sure if theyre as good as their straight up record indicates. from an sdsu perspective, i havent bet money on them in about a month and a half. bet on em as a strong play when they played ohio state in maui. they looked impressive in that tourney. but theyve been enigmatic since. never sure what youre gonna get from fishers bunch. theyve got good players there. theyre capable of winning tonight. might have to take a small play on em with you the more i look at it. good luck buddy

1 unit....halftime play:
michigan (pk) (+100) over fairfield

when both teams are rested and on their game, fairfield is no slouch and could definitely give michigan a game. but this scheduling spot is tough for fairfield, and the 1h proved that. stags coming off a productive but grueling trip to hawaii where they played a lot of gms in few days. the holiday tourney culminated in a loss to hawaii in overtime on the final shot. fairfield shooting a very poor % in the 1h and i dont expect it to improve. looks like tired legs. michigan could be up more if not for some bricklaying at the line. wolverines should exploit a tired fairfield team not on their game today

fairfield seemed exhausted. never got anything going all game. wolverines coulda won by 30 if not for absolute ineptitude at the free throw line (6 for 19  )

Liked Michigan as well (for the game)...as you mentioned, the travel factor for them tough to overcome and the same thing is happening with Pepperdine, who had it even worse having to play in high altitude.

added fresno state over hawaii.....this line has been getting hit down. line moves on fresno games are normally very sharp. its about time for the bulldogs to step up. lopes seems to be trying to establish some discipline on this team. theres no doubt fresno is more talented than hawaii. but bows are just always a nice cohesive unit. this is a winnable game for fresno. if nothing else, their defensive effort the last month has been outstanding. that alone should be able to keep them in the game.

akron 2h.....its about damn time for the zips to step up an win a big game. this game is theirs for the taking. they pissed away a 35-20 lead and turned their halftime lead into just 39-34. wmu is making a charge. tarver needs to lead this team and show some nutsack. he cant let them lose this. its the mac opener, but this game is very important to akron. old zip teams would have lost this kind of game. this team is good enough to win. i think they re-establish their double digit lead at some point in the 2h and win the game
