I undestand we can see and here most of it on 60 minutes tonight. He just has to be lieing. The first part that I seen. Bush would never stretch the truth. But then Powell that turn coat said. Some of this chit was talked about but just in general what if's not that any of it was cast in stone. Of course not you talk about infading Iraq 6 months before 9/11 and it's just a joke.
Nothing wrong with planning but when it's not presented as an option, but as a necessity and bolstered by lies then the plan becomes a plot.
Makes me wonder if those employment numbers were intentionally overstated, why not fudge a recovery? Should be easier to plot than an invasion!!!

There is a big difference between contingency planning and a determined effort to invade another country. What was wrong was the campaign of lies used to justify the invasion in the middle of our "War on Terror". The hunt for Bin Laden and Al Quieda was put on the back burner and the resources in Afganistan undercut to invade Iraq. Now we have troops running around with targets on their back, while US cities are left to fend for themselves. The Office of Homeland Security can issue alerts and that's about it. All the work and expense of going to level orange is put on State and Local governments. So much for the tax cut, how much have your local taxes and the cost of services gone up as a result of this strategy? Of course we will have to pay those billions spent in Iraq someday as well!!!
chucky, not the baseball paul oneill but a man of the same name that was in the Bush admin. as Tresuary Secretary. He came out (with a book too I think lol) and said that from the start of his administration, BUsh had it in for Sadaam Hussein and his overthrow/death/capture. Pretty much saying that no matter the cost or consequence, Hussein was going down while he was in charge and that this was planned from the start, even before 911. I think Paul Oneill was head of ALCOA??

Us libs wanted Saddam out years ago while you Right Wingers were busy propping him up and cherring on his killing his own people and while Cheney was making illegal business deals with him while heading Haliburton. Nice spin Doctor but it doesn't sell. We are glad Saddam is gone. But the price was much too expensive and made even more expensive because of the way the right wing supported the guy for years and the way Bush and Co. mishandled it.
