read another thread about Steve Mcnair under achieving, personally I like Mcnair admired his leadership and his ability to produce in pain. Now Donovan LoL, not even close to measuring up.

I personally wouldn't call completing on 4th and 26 and then leading my team down the field to an eventual victory a choke! Green Bay looked like the better team on the day but when it's all said and done, you've gotta finish the job and it was Favre and not McNabb who had this problem. Jalen, nice weekend buddy and if only the niners were there next weekend instead of the 'terrible' eagles to contest for the NFC championship instead of enjoying their third week of holidays in El Salvador! Looking forward to reading your comments if the eagles do actually go all the way.

Shamrock

This thread probably should have been started in the general discussions forum, rather then the NFL forum. It's got more to do with negativity and hating, then intelligent pro football discussion.

GL with your Pats Shamrock.

Looks pretty stupid after the 4th and 26th conversion, outplaying Farve, and going to his third straight NFC championship (more than likely the SB this year.)Are you really Rush Limbaugh?

dc player-my comments about #5 have absolutely nothing to do with hate or negativity. My post isn't that long, but evidently you didn't see my comments on Mcnair:confused:

edludes- your statement says precisely my feelings, third straight NFC championship, how many wins? How did he look last championship Sunday against Tampa? I wouldn't put the quarterback and his 21/38 day as paramount to victory, I'd thank the Defense & the goal line denial. That and of course Shermans empty sack.

I grant Mcnabb converted a 4th and 26, great catch by mitchell, but I'd take mcNair anyday. GB shot themselves in the foot time after time and still should have won. Sherman and the def cord should be run out of town. JMO.

Speaking of last weekends game. WTF was martz thinking both @ the end of regulation and the play calling before they attempted a 50+ yd field goal. Mister big balls took the apple!!

I hope carolina sqashes philly.

Philly won't let another opportunity get away. Panthers almost gave it away under pressure. Eagles performed under pressure. Battle-tested, battle-hardened.

How many AFC champoinships was Peyton Manning in before this year?Does this make him an underachiever?Blocking and d sure helps, huh?Archie Manning must have really sucked, the best he ever did was go 8-8 once.Did Dan Fouts ever go to a Super Bowl?John Brodie? Why is there no thread saying Trent Green is a no account underachiever by some disgruntled KC fan?Is Jake Plummer an underachiever? Why no threads at MJ's about him?.Did you ever hear some say those guys were underachievers?Hell no,and they weren't.Ahh but they're not black QBs,are they? Its a team game, the team loses and the team wins.Wilt was twice the individual player Bill Russell was,(I watched them play countless times as a boy) but the Celtics had the much better teams until '67.Why is it the Black QBs fault that their team didn't go to the SB?Why is it there are people here at MJ's running down McNabb and McNair as stupid and underachievers? Was Brady an underachiever last year when they lost to the Raiders,is he the sole reason the "Pats" win or lose?(He's slower than catshit in January thats for sure.)No,I'll bet you think its probably a team loss in his case.I played every game of varsity football I was eligible for in as a D.Tackle in college and high school and at least was invited to a pro camp with the N.Y.Giants,(long enough to know I didn't want to make a living that way.)I know football, and don't give all the credit or blame to the qb for the result of every game,or even every play, like you obviously do.How many of the incomplete passes were plays where he was getting rid of the ball due to great pass rushes/poor blocking? How many incomplete passes were balls that had to be thrown away because his receivers couldn't get open or ran the wrong route or didn't pick up the audible that they'd praticed all week? Are those incompletions the fault of the QB or some other player?Whoever wins next week the qb probably just had to throw his jock out on the field to do so.No one blocks for him,has to run or catch the football for him.No one plays defense for his team or even kicks off or kicks FGS or coaches them either.Nope, the losing QB's were unprepared, underachieving losers, the winners Gods from Mt.Olympus, until one of them loses the SuperBowl the next week, that is.NcNabbs offense isn't exactly Air Coryell, his receivers are undistinguished,as is the o line.Maybe, just maybe, they could have been beaten by a better team in the two previous NFC championship games. They won't have that problem this week, but that suspect Philly running D would really have me worried if I were a fan of the Eagles, and not a handicapper.Hope I made my point clear,it wasn't exactly the one you were making Shamrock.

I agree with you on almost any count, except your decision to include Jake Plummer..... I'm cleaning my keyboard of the geyser of coffee that spouted from my mouth upon hearing his name......

.....and in addition, SD got screwed by Cincinatti and the opening of the doors at the end of the stadium in the AFC championship.... some great Air Coryell teams in those years.... just some great Raider teams in same division as well

edludes, was curious as to why you brought race into the discussion. He complimented one QB and shot down another. Why did you take offense to him saying something bad about 1 QB and making it into a racial issue, while conveniently ignoring the great compliment he payed to the other? Now if he had made a post slamming Favre and praising Brady, would you have come to Favre's defense by saying why are you going after the white QB?

I know I may get slammed for this post, but I'm sick of people always looking for racial undertones in everything. Sorry for ranting, I'm just sick of the PC BS that's all over these days... now I'll probably be labeled a racist...
