The guys who were shooting at that lion and each other before finally killing it did butcher and eat part of it that same night, and the rest was given to a local tribe. I also found out it was a canned hunt which I am totally against. That's where the hunting takes place in the confines of a high fence which is not sporting or ethical imo at all.

Below is a lion hunt of a different nature, with bow and arrow, face to face and close. I still don't have any desire to kill a lion, but if I did, this would be the way, with a bow. Is this challenging and dangerous enough for the anti-hunters here?

On the course!
I'm not an anti-hunter, but I am willing to guess that the guides had some serious weaponry to bail these guys out if needed.

Plus, when they shot the beast and ran away to the safety of their truck, that didn't seem like the Great White Hunter stories you always here!:D

The hunt was a success!

The hunt was a success!

The guys were hunting the lion for his black mane.

One dude is a little thin on top.

sixfive I watched that video a couple more times and noticed what surely seemed to be a lot of straight posts and a likely fence also, which disgusts me also.

Plus did you watch that in slow-mo at the end the guy that gets knocked over by the lion loses his rifle and the muzzle goes to the ground first. Then without thinking he picks it back up it appears to me and takes the final shot at the lion.

Just think what would have happened if he had 1-2 inches of dirt in the muzzle and squeezed off a round.:nono: :nono:

Man jumps into lions pit, makes like a bull fighter and is mauled

A man identified as Lucas Tomas, 22, lies on the grass with Quique, a lion at the Buenos Aires zoo in Argentina.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- A man was mauled by a lion after jumping into its pen at the Buenos Aires Zoo and holding out his jacket as if it were a bull fighter's cape, doctors said Monday.

Lucas Tomas, 22, scaled a wall, dropped inside the pen began baiting one of the two lions inside. The lion pounced on the man, knocking him to the ground and biting him repeatedly before a policeman fired several warning shots that scared the animal off.

Tomas suffered minor injuries to his hands, arms and face, doctors said, adding they were also treating him for psychological problems.

Juan Carlos Ramares, the chief medic at Fernandez Hospital, said Tomas told authorities he had been ordered by "voices from God" to go in and taunt the lions, according to local reports.
