Sorry about Denver-North Texas.NT took a 20 pt lead in the 1st half. Then Denver stormed back and took a 1 pt lead. But that is all she wrote.I got a call at halftime from my buddy at the game.He said Denver missed open jumpers. In the second hafl they hit them. Starky got in foul trouble vs Johnson and only played a little more then half the game.
But no excuses.Did a poor job capping. But would not change anything I said or did.

Iona -2 over Fairfield
Like Iona a lot tonite. They have 4 gds that can shoot, drive, run, dribble, shoot, fast break and shoot. There is a lot of shooting there.DeShawn had another good nite.Maybe he is out of his "gunning".Smith is the 6'6 foward who I think is the best player.Jenkins inside is by himself but solid.
Fairfield is coming off a 9 pt loss to Marist.Magarity played a 2-3 zone and told Fairfield"beat us from the outside".And the stags couldn't score. They have no pure jump shooters.Gai was forced outside to take his 3's.Great coaching job by Marist.Stags offense is terrible. They scored 50 pts vs marist. They have now lost to St Pete by 4,beat Elon by 4 and got beat bad by Michigan and Duke.
Todd looked like the only player out there the other nite vs marist.
Iona should play zone too.Hopefully Ruland scouted them.
Iona has 4 guys in the top 15 in scoring in the MAAC.They have a better offense,FG% and are a better rebounding team despite the 2 bigs Stags[Gai,Thomson]
Iona does like to penetrate the ball with its quick gds and if they challange Gai there balls will be in row 3 with the cheerleaders. But lets not talk about cheerleaders.I'm still suffering from the North Texas ones.
Iona wins this by 6 to 8 pts. They are so much quicker and athletic. But there b-ball IQ is low.If ruland would get off his 350 pound ass and coach just a little Iona wins by 15.

Niagara -14 over Loy Md
Best bet.The 2nd best team in the MAAC.Explosive offense.Dominating rebounding.Shooters,dribblers,etc.
Loy is the worst team in the MAAC and maybe country. In the past Purple have beaten them by just 13,7 and 13.But Loy lost its 2 best players when they transfered.Bell is there only player.
They can't shoot, play defense or rebound. They did shoot 28-29 from the Ft the other nite vs Siena.
But they are 0-5 ats at home.Have lost to MAAC teams by 22,16,12,14 and 17.And Manhattan and Niagara haven't played them yet.
Purple roll here big and win by 20.If Purple play there "C" game and Loy plays there "A" game,Purple still win and might cover. If Purple plays A or B its a blowout regardless of any type of game Loy-md brings.

Marist -3.5 over Canisius
Griffs have lost 7 of last 8.They are 0-4 in the MAAC.They turn the ball over a lot. They are problay the worst defensive team other then Loy-md.Yet they have some talent on offense. Downey can shoot.I was at lyr game vs marist.
Marist has beaten the Griffs the last 3 times by 6,5 and 5 pts.Marist offense is suspect but better to play a bad defensive team tonite.Magarity chemistry is the problem. In the Fairfield win the other nite he got 26 pts from his bench.Siegriest who Hoops knows of had a career nite. There 2-3 zone stopped the Stags. But Griffs have some better shooters.I see some man also.
But Jodan the frosh gd played outstanding and will start tonite. And Parks another freshman is starting tonite.Talk about a wake up call.Ellerbee,Hood, and Handy better play better or they will be sitting.McClurkin is tough inside.
Not a big play because Griffs are better then there playing.Foster and Doss 2 yrs ago were tough. Both sat out last yr.
I'll take the Foxes to continue on there streak and win this by 5 or 6 pts.

Niagara ******* 7 boxes
Iona ****** 6
Marist ** 2

saw this at another forum, just thought I inform everyone here.

I go to Iona and have a source on the team who said Team Captain! Steve Smith may be declared academically ineligible for this game. According to the source, they have moved all of his things out of the locker room and are preparing for the fact he will not play. This will be a GAME TIME DECISION however, but it can not be good for the team either way. They will spend all day wondering whether or not their captain will be playing tonight.

Hope this helps, will update with information as soon as i can get it or if I can. Depends how close to game-time this decision is.

KSyas..damn
Smith is there best player. He's the 6'6 kid that doesn't gun the ball.Only blue collar player on the team.
Will wait a little. If thats true it will give the Stags a big advantage.Jenkins is by himself in the paint. The gds rebound well but Fairfield has 2 6'9 guys.
Thanks for the info.Think I'll stick with my play and hope......

Doesn't look like Smith is playing tonight, and he may be out of school all together at Iona. Red Bruin will take his spot. Bruin is a freshman, not a bad player, but still a freshman. Smith was a senior and a captain. Smith was going to be covering Gai tonight. Smith did a pretty good job on him last year. Bruin could sruggle guarding him. For your info. Hope it helps. GLTA.

From another site - take it for what its worth:

"I just talked to my buddy. 5:35 PM. He said Smith was appealing two class grades. He was denied today, but is allowed a second appeal which is on Tuesday. Thus he will remain eligible to play tonight and Monday, then his staus will hinge on Tuesdays appeal process. So to recap Smith is playing tonight. This isn't bs, check it for yourselves on Tuesday. Go Iona. GL."

Box and One,

You said you are going to knock a few boxes off but staying with Gaels? Are you talking about tomorrow against Gonzaga?
